A seaside wedding celebration in Spain’s Estepona

At Sunshine Weddings Spain, we’re thrilled to share another beautiful love story from the sun-soaked Costa del Sol. This week, we’re celebrating the stunning wedding of Nicole and Ryan, who tied the knot on June 27th, 2025, at one of Estepona’s most luxurious five-star hotels. Overlooking the sparkling Mediterranean Sea, with sweeping views stretching all the way to Gibraltar and North Africa, this newly refurbished venue offered the perfect blend of elegance, sophistication, and seaside charm. From the grand gilded foyer to the tropical gardens and beachside restaurant, every corner of this exquisite hotel set the stage for a day filled with happiness, romance, and unforgettable memories.

Join us as we take you inside Nicole and Ryan’s spectacular celebration — a sun-drenched affair where timeless luxury met Andalusian beauty, and love truly stole the show.

Bridal Preparations – A Morning of Elegance and Excitement

As the soft morning light shimmered across the Mediterranean, Nicole awoke to the gentle hum of the waves and the promise of a day she would never forget. From her suite overlooking the sea, the air was filled with growing anticipation— the perfect start to a wedding morning wrapped in luxury, laughter, and love.

Soon, the bridal suite began to buzz with energy as her mum and two bridesmaids joined her, bringing warmth and joyful chaos to the room. The talented Flavia and Kerstin were on hand to work their magic, transforming the room into a glamorous haven of curling irons, makeup brushes, and soft giggles. Between sips of champagne and the occasional peek out to the turquoise waters below, Nicole’s vision for her bridal look came together beautifully — timeless, radiant, and effortlessly elegant.

Downstairs, the Sunshine Weddings Spain team began preparing the ceremony space. Crisp white Tiffany chairs were carefully arranged beneath a romantic floral arch, complemented by a sleek ceremony table and subtle touches that reflected the couple’s style. Nearby, staff set up the table plan, name cards, and table numbers — each detail curated with care and provided by the hotel.

Personal touches from Nicole added a heartfelt note to the décor: a glowing LED sign, delicate fans for guests, and a charming card box, all lovingly set up by event decorator Camy from LemonFace. Every element blended seamlessly into the venue’s coastal backdrop, where tropical gardens met the shimmering sea.

Meanwhile, Ryan enjoyed a relaxed morning with his groomsmen — sharing breakfast, laughter, and light-hearted banter before slipping into his tailored suit. As the Sunshine Weddings Spain team checked in on final logistics, the bridal bouquets arrived, their soft hues perfectly complementing the Andalusian summer palette.

As emotions swelled and final touches were made, photographer Calin from Epic Film also arrived, ready to capture the magic — from laughter-filled bridal moments to a touching first look between Nicole and her father. With her veil in place and a final deep breath, Nicole was ready to step into the next chapter of her magical day.

Welcome Drinks – A Toast to the Beginning

As the afternoon sun bathed the hotel’s terraces in a warm golden glow, guests began to arrive through the elegant reception area, greeted by the soft sounds of live music and the sparkle of the Mediterranean beyond. The scene was pure coastal sophistication — lush tropical gardens swaying gently in the breeze, the faint scent of salt in the air, and panoramic views stretching toward Gibraltar and the North African coastline.

From the hotel’s reception bar, trays of chilled cava, sparkling water, and signature cocktails were passed around by attentive staff, setting a tone of relaxed luxury. Under the shade of white parasols, guests mingled and laughed, reconnecting with friends and family while admiring the stunning surroundings.

Ushers Joe and John welcomed everyone with friendly smiles, gently guiding guests through the reception area and toward the manicured gardens where the ceremony would soon take place. Meanwhile, the Sunshine Weddings Spain team worked efficiently behind the scenes, ensuring every detail was set — from the perfectly aligned white Tiffany chairs to the sound system tuned for the ceremony playlist.

As the music softened and the bar slowly closed, Ryan and his groomsmen gathered guests together, signalling that the celebration was about to begin. A sense of quiet excitement rippled through the crowd as they made their way toward the ceremony space, the sunlight dancing across the sea just beyond.

The Ceremony – Saying “I Do” by the Sea

As the final notes of music drifted through the air and glasses from the welcome drinks were set aside, guests were gently ushered toward “The Perfect Garden” — a breathtaking ceremony space surrounded by tropical greenery and overlooking the glistening Mediterranean. Rows of white Tiffany chairs lined the aisle, each one perfectly placed before a stunning four-poster wedding arbour, adorned with soft white blooms and draped fabric that caught the sea breeze. At the front, a simple white ceremony table, provided by the hotel, stood ready for the signing — understated, elegant, and perfectly in keeping with the couple’s modern coastal style.

As guests took their seats to the soothing sound of instrumental music performed by Lucy Faye, a talented live vocalist and musician, the anticipation began to build. Ryan led the way, guiding guests to their places before joining his groomsmen at the front, a quiet smile on his face as he waited for his bride. One by one, the bridal party began their graceful procession — Bo, Chloe, Kirstee, Lucy, and Laura — walking the aisle in harmony with Lucy Faye’s soulful rendition of “The Vow” by Ruth Anne.

Then came the moment everyone had been waiting for. Nicole, radiant in her gown, entered on the arm of her father, her eyes locked on Ryan’s as the soft melody filled the garden. The air was thick with emotion — a blend of happiness, love, and awe — as the couple finally stood together beneath the floral arch, framed by the golden Andalusian light.

The ceremony itself was heartfelt and beautifully paced. Surrounded by loved ones, Nicole and Ryan exchanged vows that were both tender and deeply personal, sealing their promises with smiles and happy tears. During the signing of the register, Lucy Faye performed an acoustic version of “Latch” by Disclosure — a beautifully intimate soundtrack to a defining moment.

As the ceremony drew to a close, the energy lifted once more with “This Will Be (An Everlasting Love)” by Natalie Cole, performed live by Lucy Faye. Guests clapped and cheered as the newlyweds made their joyful exit down the aisle, hand in hand, ready to celebrate the start of their new life together.

The ceremony had been nothing short of magical — a blend of elegance, emotion, and sea-kissed romance — setting the perfect tone for the celebrations that followed.

Post-Ceremony – Drinks Reception

As the ceremony came to a close, Nicole and Ryan shared a smile before taking a short walk with their photographer for a few relaxed portraits — capturing their first moments as husband and wife with the sea and afternoon light as the backdrop.

Meanwhile, guests were guided by the Sunshine Weddings Spain team to the Rose Garden, where the drinks reception awaited. The bar served chilled cava, wine, beer, and soft drinks, all looked after by the hotel’s attentive staff. Under white parasols and surrounded by the garden’s blooms, guests mingled in a laid-back, cheerful atmosphere — the perfect start to the celebrations ahead.

Lucy Faye returned to perform her second live set, her soulful voice floating across the terrace as guests mingled and toasted the happy couple. Elegant trays of cold and hot canapés circulated among the crowd, offering Mediterranean-inspired bites that paired beautifully with the sparkling drinks in hand.

Family photos began soon after, coordinated seamlessly by the Sunshine Weddings Spain team and assisted by Ryan’s sisters, Danielle and Shannon, ensuring every special combination was captured. Between photos, laughter, and heartfelt hugs, the joy of the day was palpable.

Before moving on to dinner, Sunshine Weddings Spain delivered a private plate of canapés to Nicole and Ryan, allowing them a quiet moment together away from the buzz — a chance to savour the view, the music, and the feeling of finally being married.

As Lucy Faye wrapped up her set and glasses were topped with cava once more, the call for dinner was made, guiding guests to the next beautiful setting of the evening; a lookout terrace.

Dining & Speeches – A Feast Under the Andalusian Sky

Guests took their seats on the lookout terrace, where tables were elegantly set beneath the open sky, offering breathtaking views of the Mediterranean coastline. The evening sunlight softened into a golden glow as everyone awaited the couple’s grand entrance.

DJ Fuller set the tone with upbeat tracks — the bridal party entered to “Cold Light” by KC Lights and Leo Stannard, followed by Nicole and Ryan’s grand entrance to “Talamanca” by BURNS. The energy was electric; guests waved napkins in the air, cheering as the newlyweds made their way to the top table.

Before dinner began, a series of heartfelt speeches filled the terrace with laughter and emotion. Malachy, the father of the groom, opened with warmth and pride, followed by Hazel, Nicole’s mother, whose words brought tender smiles to everyone’s faces. Next came Patrick, Ryan’s best man, who delivered a perfect mix of humour and heart before Ryan himself took the microphone to thank their families, friends, and everyone who had travelled to share their day.

As applause faded, wine and beer were poured, and the first course was served. The meal unfolded beautifully — each dish a reflection of the hotel’s renowned culinary excellence. Between courses, the atmosphere was filled with easy laughter and conversation, the clinking of glasses blending with the soft background playlist curated by DJ Fuller.

Just as dessert was served, the wedding cake — crafted by local cake baker Louise — was delivered to the terrace, ready for its moment later in the evening. As the sun began its descent, Nicole and Ryan slipped away briefly for a pre-sunset photo session, capturing those final golden moments overlooking the sea before the night’s celebrations truly began.

Evening Celebration – Dancing Into the Night

As twilight settled over the coast, the celebration continued on the lookout Terrace, where DJ Fuller and Guillermo on saxophone kicked off the evening with smooth, uplifting beats. Guests filled the dance floor, their laughter mingling with the soulful notes of the sax under the night sky.

Nearby, the photobooth opened — a two-hour flurry of smiles, props, and fun that captured the joy of the evening in snapshots to cherish.

At dusk, the lights dimmed slightly as the cake was wheeled forward. Surrounded by their loved ones, Nicole and Ryan stood together to cut their elegant cake, marking the start of the evening’s most romantic moment. The first dance followed — “Dream Catch Me” by Sonny Tennet — a song that perfectly reflected the emotion of the day. DJ Fuller then transitioned seamlessly into “Kiss Me” by Dermot Kennedy, inviting the wedding guests to join the dance floor.

As the night progressed, the music moved indoors where the party reached full swing. Drinks flowed from the open bar, laughter echoed across the room, and the dance floor stayed packed well past midnight. Guests enjoyed late-night snacks, slices of wedding cake, and the irresistible beats of Fuller’s set until the celebrations finally came to a close at 1 AM.

It was a night to remember — filled with music, love, and the unmistakable spirit of a Mediterranean celebration.
