At Sunshine Weddings Spain we are blessed with so many amazing wedding couples from every walk of life. One of our most stunning weddings of 2015 was that of Brighton couple Sonia and Yusef. Sonia has Indian roots and Yusef’s family is from Turkey, so they wanted an unforgettable Marbella Indian wedding to remember.
We travelled up and down the Andalucian coast showing the couple the array of stunning venues that the Costa del Sol has to offer. It can be tricky for those wanting to marry in Spain to decide where they want to hold their ceremony as the choices out here are spectacular; from mountain retreats and beach shacks, to five star hotels and sea view villas…we have it all, plus plenty of sunshine.
Sonia and Yusef managed to combine the best of both worlds. Yusef’s family stayed in one of our luxury Estepona villas where they chose to hold the pre-wedding party, and the bride’s family stayed in an Eastern inspired boutique hotel in the Marbella mountains.
The pre-wedding party was great fun and the perfect way for the two families to meet. On arrival guests were treated to a Spanish guitarist and flamenco dancing as they enjoyed their drinks and canapés. The Spanish flair was combined with Indian tradition, where female guests were invited to have their hands painted in customary henna. Everybody was then seated in the beautiful gardens where they enjoyed the tastes and sights of a live paella show where the chef demonstrated how to make Spain’s most loved dish, before enjoying tucking in accompanied with plenty of local wine from the region.
The evening continued with a DJ that played chilled out Ibiza-style music as everyone sipped cocktails under the stars and looked forward to the next day’s spectacular Marbella Indian wedding.
Find out in Part Two how Sonia and Yusef managed to combine the beauty of Spain with the magic of a traditional Indian wedding in the foothills of Marbella.
