If you’re looking at our webpage then you have been invited to join us for our wedding celebrations in Southern Spain!
Barney & I will arrive in Spain on 13th September and will stay at the Calamijas Hotel in la Cala de Mijas for a couple of nights before checking into the villa for our special day ‘ You are welcome to come over and join us whenever you wish.

THE BIG DAY! – Tuesday 16th September‘
We would like you to join us at the Hacienda San Jose around 3:30pm-3:45pm where you will have a welcome drink Our ceremony will start promptly at 16:00 so please don’t be late!’ The Hacienda is a private villa 6km from the coastal town of La Cala de Mijas.
After the ceremony we would like it if you would indulge yourselves in canapes, an alcoholic beverage and take in the stunning views.
We will then move around to the back of the house where we will digest a 3 course meal and await the speeches!!!
After the speeches we will have a PARTAAAAAY!!!” We will party under the stars until 12am then we will move in to the party room in the Hacienda.
Wednesday, 17th September
‘We will be’having a pool party and would love everyone to come and join us ‘ If you would like to bring anything to the pool party’then we would love people to bring’a drink please.
If you are leaving on the 17th’and need to check out early then you are more than welcome to bring your luggage to the villa, have some food and drink then get showered.

FLIGHTS
We have found out that the cheapest way to fly to Malaga is by Easy Jet, but sometimes Ryanair can work out just as cheap or a combination of the two i.e., fly out with one and return with the other.

ACCOMMODATION
When we went to Mijas Costa for a few days we stayed at Calamijas Hotel (www.calamijas.com) and paid €42 a night for a double room with breakfast. We found this particular hotel to be more than adequate.
Whilst we were there we also discovered several other options for accommodation Depending on your needs there are Villas, Apartments and hotels available. We have shortlisted a few below, however we have also found the Trivago website (www.trivago.co.uk) to be very useful when booking accommodation. ‘On our recent trip to Mijas Costa, we used Trivago ourselves and found it to very easy and hassle-free When booking your accommodation please remember we are in Mijas Costa not Mijas.

GENERAL INFORMATION
Food
As you all know me and especially Barn love our food, Spain is most definitely the place to over indulge at a cost effective price.
Tapas is the best way to eat as you can try lots of different foods! At lunchtime you can usually get some Tapas and a drink for around €20 per couple. Otherwise evening meals range between €30 & €50 per couple. Portions are more than adequate.
If you are not so keen on the local cuisine there is also an Indian, Chinese, Mexican, Italian, and Irish bar serving all the favourite English meals.
Entertainment
There is a square in the middle of the town where all the restaurants and Tapas bars are situated, along with an Irish Bar. There are also a small number of bars located across the main road by the Calamijias Hotel.
If you are looking for a more lively night out you have Fuengirola or Benalmadena just down the road, only a short taxi ride away.
Beaches
In la Cala de Mijas the beach is on your door-step, they are impeccably clean, it is perfect to put your towel down, feet in the sea and soak up the sun, with a cold beer in your hand.
Playgrounds
There are 3 main playgrounds in La Cala de Mijas, one on the beach for the toddlers and two behind the beach. These are for the older children 3 upwards.
Trips
There is plenty to do in and around Mijas Costa including aqua-parks, go-karting, horse riding, pirate boat trips and lots more. I forgot to mention, most importantly of all Golf for the lads!!!
Golf
There are numerous golf courses in the area as it is a hot bed for aspiring golfers. One 9-hole course is situated just behind the Calamijas Hotel. ‘It costs around €21 for 9 holes €30 for 18.
We are likely to get a group discount depending on numbers. Booking prior to travelling may also help with costs.
Clubs are available to hire, costing from €30 to €60 for the week.

Family fun
I have heard about the Aqua arena park from Coe’s stag do, and have been told it’s a great day out.
