Why Spain?
Simon has been visiting the area we are getting married for over 30 years. His family have had a villa there for over 40 years. Plus, it’s lovely so we thought you would all enjoy partying with us there.
The plan
We will have a blessing at La Cala Church at 4pm then there will be a 15 minute scenic stroll to the wedding venue, which will be a surprise on the day. The venue is open until late so bring your dancing shoes.

Travel
Flights
The closest airport is Malaga. The following companies fly there and flights are out now for most:

Transfers
It is a 25 minute drive from Malaga airport to La Cala. There is a taxi rank outside the airport or we have organised discounts with Malaga Transfer’s.
In a standard car with capacity for 4 people + 3 medium suitcases: €46.50

In a people carrier up to 7 people + 4 – 7 suitcases: €60

There is also a train running from the airport straight into Mijas for a few euros.

We recommend staying in La Cala de Mijas so you are within walking distance to the church and ‘venue and close to us.
We are staying at Crown Resorts Club La Riviera.

Vik Gran Hotel Costa Del Sol – La Cala de Mijas
VIK Gran Costa Del Sol is a low cost hotel located directly on Mijas’ sandy beach and close to restaurants, bars and shops. The centre is a five-minute stroll away. There are different options available with bed & breakfast, half-board or all inclusive.
We are in discussions with them to organise discounted room rates and more information should be available in September.

Dress code
Dress to impress but keep in mind it will be hot and parts of the wedding will be outdoors.
There will be a 15 minute stroll from the church to the venue so ladies you may want to bring your flip flops.
Gifts
We appreciate that you will have flown to Spain so no gifts are needed plus we can’t carry much back but if you would like to contribute to our honeymoon we would love you even more.
Children
Unfortunately we cannot accommodate children outside of the wedding party. We hope this means that you can relax and enjoy your day.
