Paul and Shirley – Monday 25th May 2015

Back

If you are reading this, we thought you would like to know …

We are finally ‘getting hitched’ …

First-pic

25th May 2015

You, our family and good friends … are invited to join us in beautiful Andalucía, for our three day wedding celebration on the 24th – 26th May 2015 (inclusive)

Second-pic

We met many blue moons ago, when we were both sweet sixteen and after a short period apart (twenty years!!!) we have decided to spend the rest of our lives together!

We are tying the knot in Andalucía, the venue is a country house hacienda, with sweeping views towards Gibraltar and North Africa. As we both live in Madrid, we are making you guys catch the flights this time!

The venue is very rustic and rural, we have purposely chosen a venue as such, due to a couple of factors:

1) We are not fans of anything ‘over-commercialised’ and ….

2) We want to spend as much time as possible, with all of you. Hence us choosing the hacienda that allows us to have the whole celebration together!

Spain holds a very special place in both our hearts and we hope our three day wedding party will enable you to feel our love for this country and to celebrate our love for each other.

Prepare yourselves to fiesta, with little siesta!!!

Venue

La Herriza, Gaucin, Andalucia

The hacienda is exclusively ours, for the full three days. Regarding booking accommodation, this is not’necessary as we shall select different villas for all our guests, depending on your family/group size. Prices are approximately 45 euros, per person, per night, including breakfast.

Third-pic

We are hoping that as many guests as possible can travel on the same flight: Manchester – Malaga on’Sunday 24th May. We completely appreciate that this could be tricky for people residing in other parts of the UK, Ireland, The Isle of Man or Russia!! Our reasoning for requesting everyone arriving into Malaga around the same time is that we are arranging a coach to bring all our guests from the airport to the hacienda. The coach will pick everyone up at TBC (probably around 12.30-13.30pm, which gives everyone time to collect their luggage, have a coffee, or purchase last minute items, considering there are no amenities in the vicinity of the hacienda.

All the below carriers fly into Malaga (ideally we wish for all our guests to be arriving in Malaga by 12:00pm)

  • Ryanair
  • EasyJet
  • Monarch
  • Jet2
  • Thompson

If it is not possible for you to arrive before the above time, please don’t hesitate to let us know and we will provide you with taxi/transfer details.

Regarding departures from the hacienda on the 27th, our understanding, is that many of you may choose to holiday along the coast for a few days following our wedding. Therefore, we will leave that up to you.

Again, if you require any recommendations regarding resorts, hotels, transfers, just let us know …

It’s a beautiful journey from Malaga to Gaucin, right through the Andalusian Mountains, incredibly rural and ‘an experience’ …

“Motor bikers and sporty mountain bikers hug the curvy road like a well-loved woman but if you’re a motorist going to Gaucin, wear a seatbelt!”

The ‘Camino de Gibraltar’, as the old road was known, was built by the Romans to provide access to Gibraltar and the sea from Ronda. And not a great deal seems to have changed, judging from the potholes!

But brave the long and winding road to this classic hacienda and your courage will be rewarded as you arrive at the beautiful La Herriza…

We shall be awaiting your arrival to commence our wedding celebrations.

THE AGENDA

THE pre- party! – Sunday, 24th May 2015

We would like all our guests to arrive at La Herriza by late afternoon, if possible.

Dress etiquette – Ladies … Completely your choice, considering we shall be outdoors most of the time we suggest some flip-flops/flat shoes! Of course heels are a must too, every girl needs heels!!!!!

I am lucky to have my own ‘family make-up artist and stylist’. However, if any of you require a hairdresser that morning, please just let me know as I am sure our wedding planners can arrange this.

Gentlemen – Again, your choice (except for the wedding party) all we ask is that you wear braces please, the old man type, not ones on your teeth!!!

Keep it relaxed, there is no huge ‘etiquette’ with our wedding, be comfortable. (No top hats and tails please!!)

  • 4:00pm – Wedding service
  • 5:00pm – Cocktails and canapes
  • 6:30 – 9:30pm – Wedding Breakfast and speeches

Fourth-pic

We will be providing games and some outdoor activities for the children, our celebration very much involves our Nephews and the other little ones that have a big place in our hearts. If any parents need any extra facilities/services, just let us know. Our venue is a family-run business that prides itself on making their guests stay, as comfortable as possible. We can also arrange a baby-sitting service, should this be something you may require.

We are so excited to be sending this invitation to each one of you, our numbers are really limited, so each one of you has be chosen from the heart !

We look forward to hearing from you soon, any questions please ask or send us an email.

With lots of love,

Shir and Paul
