Jo and Danny were a great couple that we had the pleasure of working with last summer when we planned a three day extravaganza of wedding fun for them on the Southern coast of Spain. In PART 1 of their wedding story we told you all about their wedding day dreams, their vision for the perfect venue and how they spent Day One of their celebrations. And now for the big day…
Jo and Danny’s wedding day was, as you can see in the photos, nothing but good times from start to finish. They had thought of everything, from funny signs to be carried down the aisle to unique personal gifts for their bridesmaids and groomsmen.
Jo looked a picture of bridal elegance on the day with the help of Lorraine who managed the bridal and bridesmaid hair and make-up.
The ceremony in the venue’s picturesque chapel was very emotional as Jo entered to the sounds of Spanish guitar, and for the drinks reception afterwards the guests enjoyed Cava in the courtyard before dinning in the main square in front of the impressive converted monastery.
During dinner the live music duo’ Simone and Mike’ sung a collection of the couple’s favourite tunes. Thank goodness the desserts had already been served by the time the duo reached the livelier numbers, as all one hundred guests were having so much fun they were all up and dancing in no time.
Now that the party was already in full swing the duo announced that the festivities were to continue in the adjoining terrace where Jo and Danny cut their spectacular cake and a DJ was waiting to keep them all on their feet. The celebrations continued until the early hours of the morning with a further five hours of drinking and dancing.
The next day was another fun-packed adventure for the guests, even though most skipped breakfast and were nursing a delicate head!
Jo and Danny had kept Sunshine Weddings Planner Scott busy looking for the ideal post-wedding venue. They wanted something different, so after tapas in a white-washed village on the first night, and a rustic monastery venue for their big day, they opted for a touch of Spain at a bay close to Sotogrande Marina.
The beach bar (or ‘Chiringuito’ as it’s called in Andalucia) was the perfect location for a relaxing third day with friends and family. As the azure waters lapped gently at the sand, and the views stretched out for miles as far as the Gibraltar rock and Northern Africa, Jo and Danny knew they had found their ideal haven.
That morning two 55-seater coaches arrived at the two hotels and collected the guests for their chilled day by the sea. The Chiringuito manager, Silvia, served drinks and paella to the guests while they lounged by the sea and recovered from their crazy three days of fun. The September sun had warmed up the Mediterranean sea enough for guests to have a dip and make the most of their time together before being taken back to their hotels.
Jo and Danny wanted traditional Spanish Spain for their wedding celebrations – and that’s exactly what they got. What better way of enjoying your wedding in Spain than having all those you love around you, eating great Spanish food in the sunshine, drinking, dancing and taking in the spectacular sights of Andalucia. We hope your three days were all you dreamed of Jo and Danny. Congratulations!
