A Tribute To DJ Scott MacNaughton…

The majority of our articles and interviews focus on the happy moments with our bridal couples and wedding vendors. However, we felt that we couldn’t let a recent event pass without paying our respects. Today we wanted to post a tribute to much loved DJ, Scott MacNaughton, who had entertained bridal couples all over the Costa Del Sol and Cadiz for almost two decades.

We spoke with Scott Gibbons, our founder, at Sunshine Weddings the morning after the news of Scotts passing had been made public. He, like many, was in shock and saddened by the loss of one of the Coasts favourite wedding DJs. The Sunshine Weddings team met up and spoke fondly of their different memories of Scott and dedicated a minutes silence to reflect on what a wonderful person he was.

Scott was the gentleman of the DJ world.

Scott was the gentleman of the DJ world and always went out of his way to help others. He could often be seen helping our team ushering the wedding guests onto coaches in the early hours of the morning. Even last week our boss, Scott, was woken up by a text from the DJ at 4am, (having foolishly forgotten to turn his phone onto silent,) explaining that the wedding had gone well and the he was just helping the last stragglers on their way.

Scott truly earned his nick name of ‘Mr Nice Guy.

Scott truly earned his nick name of ‘Mr Nice Guy’ and our brides adored him. We had to deliver the news to one such bride this week and she was very upset, having bonded with him over numerous phone calls leading up to her big day. Even in peak wedding season he made himself available, always putting his job first.
