We met in a local pub in North Wales back in 2012. It was just a casual Friday night and Neil started chatting to my friend, (as he knew her sister,) until she actually fell asleep. Then he started talking to me and we haven’t stopped since.
We got engaged in Nov 2017 on The Bow Bridge in Central Park, New York. It was a total surprise to me as Neil said he wasn’t fussed about getting married. I actually thought he was joking when he asked me.
We have always loved our mini-breaks and holidays to Marbella so it seemed like the ideal wedding destination for us, plus my brother lives down the coast in Manilva so it ticked all the boxes
As soon as we saw the luxury beachside villa in Estepona we knew it was right for us. My only doubt was could we afford such a stunning villa? It is a beautiful property and just what we wanted. Perfection. Luckily it was within our budget and we were able to have the wedding of our dreams there.
We found Sunshine Weddings by chance and never looked back from that first email we exchanged with them. We immediately booked them to handle our wedding, as we felt understood and cared for from the beginning. Scott and the team were amazing from start to finish. We highly recommend them, they looked after every single detail to perfection.
My style was always simply ‘glam.’ My bridal party know me so well and the style of wedding I was planning, so they all chose their own dresses to coordinate and got it spot on. I was delighted, they looked so beautiful. My wedding dress was elegant with sparkling details which I teamed with the most amazing fuschia pink Valentino shoes
For my makeup, Nicola McGeorge advised and guided me till we achieved the look I was after, sun-kissed and fresh with a hint of glamour. I was over the moon with the look she created. Maite, my hairstylist, managed to make my hair look very chic with an ‘up-do’ which incorporated a glitzy hair accessory to compliment my veil. The result was amazing and I felt very special with everything these fabulous ladies did for me. What a dream team
My flowers were based on pink roses, which are very special to me, as my mum who is no longer here with us used to buy them for me.
The ceremony was lovely and relaxed with Damian playing Moon River on the saxophone whilst I walked across the gardens with Neil’s daughter Lilly by my side.
Our celebrant Padre Peter put everyone at ease and made us feel completely relaxed throughout. We danced back down the aisle to ‘Now that we found love’ by Heavy D and the Boyz and that created a great atmosphere that continued on throughout the day.
The catering team provided the most beautiful food for our wedding day. We started with a variety of tapas, followed by a freshly prepared paella which was cooked in huge pans in the gardens. A mouth-watering dessert table finished things off perfectly.
We placed Macmillan Cancer badges for the men, (Silver Moustache,) and (silver hearts) for the women, on the place settings with a personalised menu for each guest.
The florist created a memory sign which was placed on a chair for my Mum. This was a beautiful touch.
We chose Chris from Carpe Diem Photography in Cheshire to capture our special day, I have known Chris for many years and seen him grow as a photographer, so there was no question who was going to be our photographer. His assistant Helen Williams was voted North West female photographer 2019, so we were over the moon that she was able to help and join us in making the amazing memories we have from our photographs.
There were many favourite moments including our first dance to Frank Sinatra ‘The Way you look tonight,’ but I think the highlight for me was when Neil read a poem that he had written about me during his speech. It totally meant the world to me and showed to everyone that he just ‘gets me.’
