Q&A With Maite Wedding Hair Stylist In Marbella…

Beautiful Bridal hair.

Today we are talking to Maite from Glamorous Hair Marbella, hairdresser to the stars and one of our much loved stylist. In Part One Maite shares with us why she loves being a wedding hairdresser in Spain and talks next season’s style trends.

Hello Maite. You’re one of the south of Spain’s best loved hairdressers, so tell us…how did you get into hairdressing?

I was practically born with scissors in my hand. From a very early age I was cutting hair for my whole family. Then, once I was old enough, I jumped at the chance to study hairdressing and beauty therapy.

Bridal hair trends; soft waves and plaits.

What has been your proudest moment as a hairdresser?

I love my job and it has taken me to some great places around the world and to some really fabulous glamorous locations. Although my proudest moment was working for many years in the famously renowned UK salon, Richard Ward in London.

Why do you love working as a wedding hairdresser in Spain?

There is nothing more rewarding that styling a bride’s hair and making her look her most beautiful on the most important day of her life.

Bridal preparations.

What are the three most important things a bride must think about when choosing her hair style?

It is really important that a bride is true to herself and keeps things simple. I would say…
1. Be yourself, your hair style must reflect your personality

2.The hairstyle should be comfortable and suit your hair type and the weather on the day

3.Your wedding hair must complement your dress and the wedding theme. So if you are having a bohemian beach wedding with a floaty dress, then you want something romantic and not severe or formal.

Bridal hair should complement your dress and the wedding theme.

What are the hair trends for 2017?

Next season is all about soft waves and plaits. Braids are still very ‘in’ so brides will either be wearing loose plaits or their hair up but with elaborate braiding.

Thank you to Maite from Glamorous Hair Marbella for talking to us. Join us in Part Two where she explains about styling bridesmaids’ hair and what happened the day she was seated next to a real Queen at a wedding!
