Located just a half-hour drive from Malaga Airport and surrounded by the charming traditional Spanish white villages of Andalucia, this beach hotel was the perfect choice for the couple and their 60 guests. The picturesque cobbled streets, friendly donkeys, and renowned pottery shops of the region added a touch of local charm to the destination.

The Venue—Laid-Back Luxury

The beach hotel itself is an oasis of laid-back luxury, adorned in calming creams and whites, it offers the highest level of comfort and quality and provides the best views in the area. Additionally, this Caribbean-styled beach venue boasts 40 bedrooms, including ocean-front mini-suites with stunning sea views, studio apartments for families, and four breathtaking penthouse suites, complete with dressing areas and freestanding bathtubs overlooking the ocean—setting a dreamy start to any bridal couple’s big day with family and friends close by.

The Wedding Morning—A Buzz of Excitement

As the wedding day dawned, the guests, who had flown in from all corners of the world to be a part of this special occasion gathered at the hotel bar where a carefully curated playlist set the mood for this captivating Mediterranean celebration.

Before the ceremony began, Scott from Sunshine Weddings, paid a visit to the bridal suite to offer some last-minute calming words to Carly. Afterward, the glowing bride and her father shared an emotional first look photography session, skillfully captured by the talented Issy Benchetrit, who artfully preserved the heartfelt emotions of this special moment.

The Ceremony—Beachfront Bliss

This beachfront setting has become a favourite among brides and grooms over the years. Ceremonies can be held on the waterfront terrace with the serene Mediterranean as a backdrop or in the hotel’s tropical gardens and pool area, both perfect settings for gatherings of around 120 guests.

On this occasion, the waterfront terrace was the chosen location for the ceremony, where Minister Gareth presided over the heartfelt union. As the couple exchanged vows, a carefully selected playlist provided the soundtrack to their love story. Bridesmaids gracefully distributed rose petals during the signing of the marriage certificate, crafting a romantic atmosphere that would lead to a petal shower during the wedding recessional.

The ceremony then reached its heartwarming conclusion with the tune “Just the Two of Us” by Kuuai 45, and Minister Gareth extended an invitation to all guests to join the couple at the pool area for a celebratory drink.

Drinks by the Pool—Sipping, Mingling, and Soaking in the Celebration

The Polynesian pool area was the perfect spot for a refreshing drinks reception. There guests enjoyed house cava, San Miguel, and non-alcoholic beverages while being entertained by the talented Roberto, a skilled sax player, who provided the entertainment with a fantastic music set, setting the stage for an enjoyable and lively atmosphere.

Delicious assorted artisan canapés were also served by the pool, allowing guests to indulge in a variety of flavours.

The prelude to the festivities also provided photographer Issy Benchetrit the opportunity to capture precious family moments, ensuring that the memories of this day would last a lifetime.

A Waterfront Dinner—Ocean Breezes, Toasts, and Culinary Delights

As the sun began to set dinner was served on the waterfront terrace with the soothing sound of the sea as background music. There guests enjoyed leek and cheese parcels with a compote of tomato and chive sauce, followed by a choice of beef wellington with truffle and red wine jus or chicken supreme with sautéed mushroom supreme sauce. A pause for Cava marked the beginning of heartfelt speeches, starting with the father of the bride.

The speeches concluded on a sweet note, transitioning seamlessly to the delightful dessert course—a red summer fruit tartlet paired with luscious strawberry sorbet, a delectable treat capping off the evening meal perfectly and marking the start of a night filled with celebration and dancing.

Dance the Night Away—Grooves, Rhythms, and Endless Celebration

With the formalities behind them, it was time to let loose and dance the night away. The party kicked off at the hotel’s veranda small terrace where DJ Steve Altman set the mood with his beats, while photographer Issy seized the moment to capture some magical pre-sunset photos.

The festivities continued into the night, with guests dancing and celebrating Carly and Kelvin’s beautiful union until the clock struck midnight, creating cherished memories of a beachfront wedding in the heart of Mijas.
