Every wedding has its own personality, and Rebecca and Nathan’s celebration was one that perfectly balanced relaxed Mediterranean style with thoughtful planning and unforgettable moments.
Held on a warm April afternoon in the Andalusian countryside, their destination wedding brought together family and friends for a day filled with live music, incredible scenery and celebrations that flowed effortlessly from one part of the venue to the next. From a heartfelt outdoor ceremony and drinks reception overlooking the surrounding hills to an evening of speeches, dancing and live entertainment, every part of the day reflected the couple’s vision.
In today’s bridal story, we’re taking you through Rebecca and Nathan’s wedding from start to finish. From the excitement of the morning preparations and the emotion of the ceremony to golden hour portraits, dinner with panoramic views and a packed dance floor, it’s a celebration full of inspiration for couples planning their own wedding in Spain.

Morning Preps & Bridal Buzz
For Rebecca and Nathan, the wedding day began separately, allowing each of them to enjoy the excitement and anticipation in their own way.
Rebecca started the morning at the venue with a relaxed breakfast before bridal preparations got underway. Makeup began at 9.15am, followed by hair styling shortly afterwards, as the bridal suite gradually filled with excitement, laughter, the clink of bubbly glasses and the unmistakable buzz of a wedding morning. There is something truly special about those final few hours before the ceremony. Surrounded by her closest family and friends, Rebecca watched as bouquets arrived, dresses were steamed and every carefully planned detail slowly fell into place. Throughout the morning, suppliers arrived one by one. Makeup artist Lucy and hairstylist Leo helped bring Rebecca’s bridal look together, while bouquets, wrist corsages and buttonholes were delivered and the final finishing touches were checked behind the scenes.
Meanwhile, Nathan and his groomsmen were getting ready separately before making their way to the venue. Guests also began arriving from Torremolinos and the surrounding coastline, with coaches bringing everyone together for the afternoon celebration. By early afternoon, with the Sunshine Weddings Spain team having arrived on site earlier to oversee every detail, the venue had transformed into a beautiful wedding setting, with everything in place and the excitement building for the ceremony ahead.
Welcome Drinks and the Sound of Live Guitar
As guests arrived, they were welcomed with refreshing lemonade and the sound of live ambient guitar from local Spanish guitarist, Nano. Guests were greeted by the groomsmen, who handed out buttonholes and wrist corsages before guiding everyone to the ceremony area, while the wedding party made their final preparations behind the scenes.
The ceremony seating was arranged on either side of the aisle, with fans placed on each chair to keep guests comfortable during the warm April afternoon. Every small detail had been carefully considered, creating a relaxed and welcoming vibe as the anticipation continued to build and the final checks were made; and just before the ceremony began, guests were kindly asked to put their phones away, allowing the focus to remain entirely on Rebecca and Nathan. And then, at 4pm, the ceremony procession began…
A Wedding Ceremony Filled with Emotion and Music
The ceremony entrance was accompanied by Nano performing Dreams by The Cranberries – a beautiful choice that brought a sense of nostalgia and emotion to the moment. One by one, the bridal party made their way down the aisle before Rebecca’s entrance. For Nathan, standing at the front of the amphitheatre and seeing Rebecca for the first time as she walked towards him was one of the defining moments of the day.
The outdoor ceremony provided a stunning backdrop, with panoramic views across the rolling Andalusian countryside. A floral-adorned wrought iron gazebo framed the aisle beautifully, while soft pink and white floral arrangements lined the ceremony chairs, creating an elegant setting for the couple to exchange their vows surrounded by family and friends.
Rebecca looked radiant in an off-the-shoulder ballgown featuring delicate floral lace detailing, carrying a romantic bouquet of blush pink and ivory blooms. Nathan complemented her perfectly in a light beige suit with a pale lilac tie and matching boutonnière, a timeless look that suited the relaxed elegance of their Spanish wedding. During the signing, Nano continued with instrumental music. Then came the moment when the ceremony turned into celebration.
As Rebecca and Nathan made their exit, the mood changed completely. The Gipsy Kings’ Bamboleo brought an unmistakable Spanish energy to the proceedings as guests showered the newlyweds with white rose petals while they made their way back down the aisle, hand in hand and beaming with happiness. From the emotion of the ceremony to the upbeat recessional, the transition was everything a destination wedding should be: romantic, relaxed and ready to celebrate.
Drinks, Canapés and Time Together
The drinks reception took place on the terrace, where guests enjoyed wine, beer, soft drinks and water while Nano performed an upbeat live set. A selection of hot and cold canapés was served as family and friends congratulated the newlyweds and caught up with one another after the ceremony.
With panoramic views across the surrounding countryside, the terrace provided the perfect setting for guests to relax while Rebecca and Nathan spent time with their photographer capturing family portraits and group photographs.
The couple had also built in a few minutes of private time together to enjoy a canapé and take in the fact they were finally married before rejoining their guests. As the drinks reception drew to a close, Nano’s live performance came to an end and guests were invited through to the dinner area, ready for the next part of the celebrations.
Dinner with a View
Dinner was served in an elegant indoor space overlooking the surrounding countryside, with the top table positioned to make the most of the views towards Vélez-Málaga. Guests were seated at round tables dressed with simple floral centrepieces, while white Chiavari chairs gave the reception a classic, understated look. Rebecca added plenty of personal touches, from the table plan and place settings to favours, children’s activity packs and thoughtful details for guests.
As everyone took their seats, MC Brad welcomed the newlyweds into the reception before inviting the first speakers to the microphone. Craig and Grant opened the speeches, followed by Nathan, before Brad rounded them off with a few words of his own. With the speeches over, guests enjoyed a leisurely three-course meal, giving everyone the chance to relax, catch up and enjoy the evening.
Before sunset, Rebecca and Nathan slipped away with their photographer for a final set of portraits, making the most of the soft evening light before returning to join their guests.
The pre-sunset photographs were scheduled for 7.40pm, giving the couple the opportunity to take advantage of the soft evening light. The countryside surrounding the venue is particularly beautiful at this time of day. As the intensity of the afternoon sun begins to fade, the landscape takes on a softer, warmer glow.
For a wedding couple, this is one of the most romantic times to take photographs. Rebecca and Nathan were able to enjoy a few moments together away from the dinner tables and celebrations, capturing the atmosphere of their first evening as a married couple, an evening that was only just getting started.
Cake Cutting, First Dance and Live Music
As dinner came to a close, Free Soul Band kicked off the evening entertainment with the first of two live sets, getting guests onto the dance floor and setting the tone for the night ahead.
Around an hour later, the celebrations paused briefly as Rebecca and Nathan cut their wedding cake before sharing their first dance to Thinking of You by Sister Sledge. It was a personal song choice and the perfect way to open the dance floor for family and friends to join them.
With the open bar in full swing, the party quickly gathered pace. After the band’s second set, DJ Fuller took over, moving the celebrations indoors where guests danced late into the night.
Music had been a key part of Rebecca and Nathan’s wedding from the very beginning. From Nano’s live guitar during the welcome drinks and ceremony to the couple’s own dinner playlist, the live band and evening DJ, each part of the day had its own soundtrack.
Late-night snacks were then served to keep everyone going before the celebrations came to a close at 1am, when the bar closed and coaches were ready to take guests back to Torremolinos after an unforgettable day in the Spanish sunshine.

Venue Overview — A Hidden Andalusian Setting with Mediterranean Views
The setting for the celebration was a beautiful countryside retreat in the hills above the Costa del Sol, surrounded by gardens, mature trees and the peaceful landscape of the Axarquía region.
The property has the feel of a traditional Andalusian country estate, combining the character of an old farmhouse with elegant accommodation, spacious gardens and wide-reaching views across the surrounding countryside. The landscape stretches towards the mountains and white villages of Málaga, with the Mediterranean Sea visible in the distance.
Its gardens provide a naturally romantic backdrop for outdoor celebrations, while the different outdoor and indoor spaces allow each part of the day to have its own setting, from the ceremony through to the evening celebrations.
Originally built as a 19th-century manor house, the boutique hotel has retained much of its traditional Andalusian charm while offering all the comforts expected of a modern wedding venue. With just 21 individually designed guest rooms, it offers an exclusive feel, making it ideal for couples looking for a more intimate destination wedding where close family and friends can stay together in one location.
One of the venue’s standout features is its position within the Axarquía, one of the Costa del Sol’s most picturesque inland regions. Surrounded by avocado and mango plantations, rolling hills and traditional whitewashed villages, the area offers a very different experience to the busy coastline, giving couples a peaceful setting without being far from the beach resorts and Málaga Airport.
For destination weddings, this location offers the best of both worlds. Many guests choose to stay in nearby coastal resorts such as Torremolinos, Benalmádena or Nerja, enjoying a holiday by the sea before travelling inland for the wedding day itself. With transfers easily arranged, couples can enjoy a countryside celebration while their guests still have access to beaches, restaurants, nightlife and plenty to explore during their stay in Spain.
