There are some wedding venues that feel beautiful the moment you arrive, and seem to capture everything you love about Spain in one place. The venue featured in today’s bridal story was just that for India and Phil. Set in the hills above the Costa del Sol, surrounded by olive trees, palms, countryside and views towards the Mediterranean, this traditional Andalusian cortijo provided the perfect setting for their beautiful destination wedding.
Located close to the whitewashed village of Casares and within easy reach of Estepona, the cortijo has a real sense of place. Traditional buildings, gardens, patios and a pool give couples plenty of different spaces to use throughout the day, while the views make a pretty impressive backdrop wherever you are.
For India and Phil, this worked perfectly. Their wedding moved smoothly from getting ready in the morning, to the ceremony beneath the olive trees, drinks and canapés overlooking the coast, dinner beside the pool and, later, dancing in the courtyard. Captured throughout the day by The Love Hunters photography team, it was a relaxed and fun celebration with plenty of Spanish touches, great food, live music and lots of time spent with family and friends.
Join us as we take a look back at India and Phil’s beautiful wedding day in Malaga.

The morning started quietly at the cortijo, with India waking up surrounded by the peaceful Andalusian countryside. Staying at the property meant there was no need to rush between locations, giving everyone plenty of time to enjoy the morning and get ready together.
As hair and makeup got underway, the bridal suite slowly became busier and the venue started to hum and buzz with excitement. Deseos arrived with the bouquets and floral arrangements, while the Sunshine Weddings Spain team got to work behind the scenes, making sure everything was in place for the celebrations ahead.
Meanwhile, Phil was getting ready separately with his best man, brother and ushers. With the couple keeping apart before the ceremony, there was a real sense of anticipation as everyone knew the next time India and Phil would see each other would be at the altar.
The Love Hunters arrived during the preparations, with Marcos photographing the day and Jose capturing the video. They began documenting all those natural moments that happen before the ceremony—the laughs, last-minute touches, details and quiet nerves—as the morning gradually turned into the wedding day everyone had been waiting for.

Outside, the first part of the celebration was taking shape on the lawn beneath the olive trees.
The setting could hardly have felt more appropriate for a wedding in southern Spain. Traditional countryside, Mediterranean light and the distant coastline provided the backdrop, while parasols offered welcome shade for guests arriving into the warm afternoon.
Guests began arriving and were greeted by Phil’s ushers before settling into the relaxed welcome reception. Beer, sangria, water and soft drinks were served while Alice Rey provided ambient live music. It was the kind of welcome that encourages everyone to slow down. There was no sense of rushing into the formalities. Guests could chat, take in the views and enjoy the setting while India and Phil prepared themselves for the moment they would finally meet at the ceremony.
Before walking down the aisle, India shared a first look with her father, Jeff. Captured by The Love Hunters, it was a beautiful private moment between father and daughter before the celebrations truly began.

As the welcome reception came to an end, guests were guided towards their seats on the lawn, where the ceremony setting looked out towards the Mediterranean. With the sea stretching out into the distance, it was a beautiful spot for India and Phil to exchange their vows.
The ceremony space had been dressed by Deseos with abundant white florals, with arrangements lining the aisle and framing the altar. Stonewash Chiavari chairs were set out for guests, with parasols providing some welcome shade from the afternoon sunshine. Phil took his place at the front with his closest friends, looking smart in a classic light-coloured suit and crisp white shirt. As the opening notes of Can’t Help Falling in Love With You began to play, everyone turned their attention towards the aisle.
Then came India. Walking in with her father, India looked beautiful in her elegant wedding dress, with its fitted bodice, delicate straps and flowing skirt. Her long veil trailed behind her as she made her way towards Phil, while the bridal party followed behind.
For Phil, it was the moment he had been waiting for. With the sea and olive trees behind them, the couple finally came together at the altar, with The Love Hunters capturing the smiles, emotions and little glances between them. The ceremony was led by India’s sister, Nicola, which made the occasion feel even more personal. Surrounded by their closest family and friends, India and Phil exchanged their vows and made their promises to each other in a setting that felt relaxed, intimate and very much part of the Spanish countryside.
Once the ceremony was over, the newlyweds made their way back down the aisle to cheers and plenty of smiles, with guests throwing petals as they walked. Everyone then followed the couple towards the drinks reception, ready to carry on the celebrations. The nerves were gone, the formal part was over and now it was time to enjoy the party.

The drinks reception took place on the grass and around the palm trees beside the ceremony area, allowing guests to continue enjoying the views while India and Phil took a moment to soak everything in.
Cava, beer and soft drinks were served, while Alice Rey continued with live music. Her set provided a relaxed soundtrack as guests mingled and congratulated the newlyweds. Cold canapés were followed by hot bites, giving everyone something delicious to enjoy while the afternoon slowly moved towards golden hour.
And this is where the layout of the cortijo really came into its own. The property is designed around a collection of gardens, patios and outdoor spaces, allowing different parts of the wedding to have their own atmosphere. The venue has extensive gardens, palm-lined areas, two interior patios and generous covered porches, giving couples plenty of options for creating a celebration that evolves throughout the day. For India and Phil, this meant the wedding could keep moving without ever feeling as though the guests were being transported from one setting to another.
Family photographs followed, with the ushers helping to gather everyone together. The Love Hunters captured the larger group portraits alongside the more spontaneous moments, before the newlyweds took a little time for photographs of their own.
As the light softened, India and Phil slipped away for some pre-sunset portraits. The surrounding countryside provided a spectacular backdrop, with the Mediterranean visible beyond the gardens and the warm Andalusian light beginning to take over.

As evening approached, attention turned towards the poolside dining area. Round and rectangular tables were dressed with details from Deseos, with stonewash Chiavari chairs completing the relaxed, elegant look. The pool and surrounding gardens created a beautiful backdrop, while the open-air setting kept the dinner feeling informal and unmistakably Spanish.
Guests were welcomed with another glass of cava before being invited to take their seats. The newlyweds then made their entrance, followed by a series of heartfelt speeches. India’s father spoke first, followed by Phil and then Chris, with each speech adding its own combination of emotion, affection and laughter to the evening.
Then came the food. The dinner followed a relaxed tapas-style format before moving into the main course, with paella served to the tables alongside bread and alioli. It was a menu that felt perfectly at home in the setting—generous, sociable and made for sharing. Ivan provided live music during dinner, beginning with a mellow set that allowed conversation to continue while adding another layer of atmosphere to the evening.
As dinner progressed, the light outside became increasingly beautiful. India and Phil stepped away once again with The Love Hunters for photographs as the sun began to dip. These quieter moments gave them the chance to pause and take in everything that had happened so far. The morning nerves were long gone. Now they were simply husband and wife, surrounded by the people they had travelled all the way to Spain to celebrate with.
Back at the reception, dessert was served as the atmosphere became more upbeat. Ivan continued his live set, gradually lifting the energy as the evening moved towards its next chapter. With the dinner celebrations drawing to a close, attention turned towards a spectacular cava tower. As the glasses were filled and the tower took centre stage, Adore U by Fred Again played, accompanied by two pyros that added a little extra drama to the moment.
A tea and coffee station was also set up in the courtyard, ready for guests as the party continued. Because this wedding was far from finished…

As darkness settled over the cortijo, the celebration moved into the courtyard. This beautiful central space is one of the property’s most atmospheric features, particularly after dark. Surrounded by traditional architecture, it offers a completely different feel from the open gardens and pool area, making it ideal for an evening party beneath the Andalusian sky.
DJ Maxee took over the music, building the energy on the dance floor while Ivan returned for one final live set. Then it was time for the first dance. India and Phil took to the floor to A Good Night by John Legend, creating a wonderfully romantic moment before the music flowed into Jubel.
The combination of DJ Maxee and musicians Ivan and Roberto kept the courtyard alive well into the night, with the relaxed outdoor setting making it easy for guests to dance, drink, laugh and simply enjoy being together. Eventually, the final songs played and the bar closed. Guests climbed aboard their waiting transfer back towards Estepona, leaving the cortijo behind after a day that had taken them from sunshine to starlight.
