With the sun starting to dip in the horizon and hints of tangerine and pink swirls in the sky creating a stunning display of light and colour, the guests gathered for a welcome drink of refreshing sangria under the olive trees at the entrance to the grounds of this traditional cortijo.

After a moment of easy mingling whilst enjoying the sound of the Spanish guitarist, Nano, strumming in the background, it was time for the ceremony to begin with Nano performing “Come and get you love” as the entrance song.

The bride, on the arm of her father, looked simply stunning in her textured lace bodice that fit snugly to her waistline as she made her way to the ceremony area where a beautiful decorated wedding arbour had been set up facing the last two olive trees and views of the shimmering Mediterranean sea in the distance.

There by the wedding bower, dressed with flowers and swirling fabric, the dashing groom was joined with the radiant bride as husband and wife, in a sentimental and inspiring ceremony where the colour changing sky made the perfect backdrop to the magical moment, providing dreamy lighting for the talented Racheal from Balance Photography to capture the unique and romantic occasion with incredible snaps.

Now as husband and wife, Auriele and Jorge walked back up the aisle to “You make my dreams come true” expertly played by Nano on guitar, where they joined their guests, who had thrown delicate white rose petals over them during the wedding recessional, by the outdoor swimming pool area for wine, cava, beers, water, soft drinks as well as the option of a white and red sangria station and a gin and tonic station.

There, all enjoyed a tasty array of canapes including: Mini beef steak on a garlic croute with Hollandaise sauce or salsa verde, crostini with smoked aubergine caviar and toasted pine nuts, tangy thai prawn skewers with sweet chili dipping sauce and prawn and bacon croquetas.

Meanwhile, an experienced ham cutter was in position cutting succulent red Spanish ham for all.

A moment which allowed the guests to mix and mingle poolside as Latino Turner provided a 60 minute upbeat music set and gave Racheal time to immortalise some more family photos of the special occasion, with the colour changing sky the perfect backdrop for out of this world images.

The main course, for the almost two hundred guests, was held in a garden area full of palm trees and lavender with stunning sea views, there in line with the rustic-styling wedding venue, classic styled chiavari wedding chairs were set-up around the tables which had been wonderfully decorated by the amazing green-fingered florist, Karen, who put the final touches to each and every table with personalised flower arrangements.

In this dreamy space, the wedding guests were offered a choice of barbequed mustard, rosemary and lemon chicken breasts with a lemon mayonnaise or barbequed fillets of sea bream with lemon and parsley as well as a selection of salads including: marinated roast vegetable (aubergine, potatoes, peppers, etc) salad with pesto, Thai noodle salad mixed lettuce – glass noodles, cucumber, peppers, bean sprouts and coriander and a garden salad with mixed leaves – tomato, cucumber, red onion, black olives, feta cheese, dates and fresh herb dressing. A succulent meal that was finished off with a dessert buffet station for all the guests to enjoy with a choice of chocolate truffle cake, mojito fruit salad, chocolate profiteroles with hot chocolate sauce plus apple pie and crème.

By the time the meal had finished the sun had long been set and it was time for the party to start, which commenced with all the guests invited to the courtyard to witness the newlyweds dance their first dance under a blanket of stars to “Destin” by Céline Dion

An incredible party was then had at the hands of DJ Steve Altman who kept everyone grooving with a catchy playlist until sunrise. And as the sky turned golden once again, with soft light scattered in all directions, the final 20 seater transfer departed from the cortijo at 5:30 am, safely transferring the last guests to their accommodation in nearby Estepona.

A wedding which brought together guests from all over Europe, the bridal couple themselves from Switzerland, in the celebration of a destination wedding in southern Spain with picturesque views that served as postcard material for the best day of Auriele and Jorge life.

A sunset wedding ceremony provided postcard material for a very special day.

On behalf of the Sunshine team we wish you both the very best of luck, health and happiness in your future together.
