If your wedding day vision is to dazzle your guests by holding your marriage vows in the centre of a majestic semicircular, open-air theatre space carved into the mountainside, then read on to find out more about Anna and Joe’s special day, held in this dream location last summer.
This stunning venue, set in an ancient wheat farm along a valley river with waterfalls, was once a family-owned restaurant in the heart of Marbella, and has been recently relaunched as a magnificent private event venue. Additionally, by offering accommodation for up to eight people, it makes the perfect location to spend some quality time with your nearest and dearest on the run up to your big day. And on the day, it has a capacity for 150 guests, perfect for a medium to large celebration in the sunshine.
The sun was high in the sky when, mid afternoon, the wedding guests gathered at the main welcome area, a stone gateway at the very entrance to the venue for a refreshing glass of Sangria, beers and soft drinks. Soothing music sounded in the background as the guests enjoyed a moment of easy mingling whilst basking in the 360 degree sweeping mountain views until the air was alive with chatter and laughter.
The guests were then led to a majestic semicircular open-air theatre space, carved into the mountainside, from where they settled to witness the most magical and unique wedding ceremony imaginable, in Casa de la Era’s very own amphitheatre!
With spectacular views to the rugged mountain-ranges that surround the finca, Anna and Joe were joined as husband and wife by locally-based wedding minister Jeff, who led an emotive yet upbeat ceremony.
Once the touching vows were said and the rings exchanged, the newlyweds then made their way back up the aisle and joined their guests who had once more gathered by the stone gateway located at the entrance to the venue, a place which offers shaded standing and seating options under a large plant-covered pergola. There, as the newlyweds enjoyed their photo session at the hands of the popular destination photographer, Rachael from Balance photography, a range of delicious hot and cold canopies which were served including: Mini beef steak on a garlic croute, Chicken satay pinchitos with peanut sauce and Smoked salmon, asparagus and horseradish wraps.
The main course was then held in the grand open-air terrace, which comfortably sits 150 guests and boasts spectacular sea and mountain views, and from where the wedding guests were offered a fantastic feast of cajun grilled chicken or pumpkin ricotta ravioli for starters , followed by a succulent mains of mushroom risotto and a trio of chocolate truffle cake, mojito fruit salad, and mini crème brulee to finish of the alfresco meal on a sweet note.
The meal was finished off with the most stunning wedding cake made by cake baker extraordinaire Louise and from there the guests were invited to remain outside, which had been decorated with minimalist lighting that added an intimate charm to the night, to witness the first dance, before Dj Altman took over and ensured, with his catchy playlist, that a great night was had by all.
As midnight approached, the guests were invited indoors to an enclosed late-night dance lounge to enjoy some last tunes before wrapping up an unforgettable fairy tale wedding.
A huge thank you to the lovely bridal couple for trusting in us with the planning of their magical day and of course to Rachael for the use of these incredible images.
