A child-friendly wedding abroad can be an exciting adventure for all the family, so remember to say ‘I Do’ with little ones in mind.
A few weeks ago we posted an article covering kid-friendly pre-wedding fun for the modern couple planning on tying the knot in Malaga, so today we’ve decided to check out what fun, family-friendly activities are available for the young and young-at-heart on the magical island of Mallorca.
Mallorca itself is home to some of the most incredible beaches in the world, secluded coves and wild calas, lush Mediterranean forests and calm wetlands full of wildlife offering something new to do or explore every day, with or without littluns in tow.
In fact, the island has earned the reputation of being one of Europe’s favourite destination wedding locations, and it has so much to offer that there is no need to leave the kiddos out of the fun.
Today, we check out just a handful of the different fun attractions that have sprung up over the years which will help to keep your wedding guests entertained on the run up to your special day.
A must-visit incredible marine park, which features more than 8000 animals of 700 different species, gathered from the Mediterranean sea, the Indian Ocean and from the South American waters, in more than 5 million litres of salt water. The aquarium has the largest shark tank in Europe and if you have a PADI diving certificate, you can actually dive in the tank with the sharks! (Perhaps not quite the child-friendly activities we are looking for on this occasion, but good to know for future visits?).
Watersports in general are popular in Mallorca, especially with the island’s beautiful coastline to explore, additionally, the Mediterranean sea is usually flat and calm, making conditions perfect for a spot of sailing or SUP (stand-up paddle). There are plenty of paddle surf rentals to hire gear from all over the island, so there is no excuse to not splash about and have some fun.
La Reserva Puig de Galatzo, situated in the south-west of Mallorca, near Puigpuñyent, is the perfect spot for an outdoor adventure for all the family. With an area of 2.5 million m² and plenty of activities on offer such as: rock climbing, hanging bridges, zip lines etc. it will be hard to get the younger members of the group to leave at the end of the day.
There are several go-karting tracks dotted throughout the island giving you the perfect opportunity to experience a high-thrill open wheel motorsport activity with the younger members of the family, and perhaps find out if you have a future Formula One racing driver in the household.
If you’re looking to entertain and enthral your guests, both young and old, with unique and fun activities, Mallorca has it all.
