Picture yourself saying your vows in an extraordinary villa, perched between the sparkling sea and the towering mountains, located in the vibrant and picturesque Marbella. This was the enchanting backdrop for Suryn and Nick’s wedding, a day that felt like it was straight out of a fairy tale. Their magical celebration took place last July at a historic venue that once served as a traditional wheat farm, tucked in a tranquil valley where serene rivers and beautiful waterfalls create an idyllic atmosphere.
This exceptional location perfectly blends the rich heritage of Andalusia with sleek, modern elegance, providing an array of stunning spaces for your special day. Originally a beloved family-owned restaurant in the heart of Marbella, this charming spot has been meticulously transformed into a luxurious wedding destination venue. Offering seclusion and tranquility while still being close to the excitement of Marbella’s vibrant city life, it’s the perfect place for a wedding retreat.
With its deep-rooted history and captivating surroundings, the venue also offers a cozy space for pre-wedding gatherings, with room for up to eight guests to stay in the days leading up to the wedding. On the big day, the venue can welcome up to 400 guests, making it an ideal choice for grand celebrations beneath the warm Spanish sky.
Suryn and Nick’s wedding beautifully highlighted the perfect balance of timeless history and modern sophistication that this venue represents. From the tranquil natural beauty surrounding the estate to the refined interior spaces, every element of their day was made even more special by the venue’s remarkable charm.
In today’s bridal story, we’ll take you through the unforgettable moments of their wedding day, offering a glimpse into the kind of celebration you can experience in this stunning Spanish villa.
As the first light of dawn touched the sky, the calm morning quickly transformed into an exciting whirlwind of activity in preparation for Suryn and Nick’s long-awaited day. Suryn kicked off her morning in the heart of Puerto Banús, waking up in a chic hotel, while Nick enjoyed a peaceful start at a beautiful villa nestled in Marbella’s charming Old Town. The couple started their day apart, each soaking in the calm before the magic of the day began.
By mid-morning, Suryn arrived at the wedding villa, greeted by her bridal party and the breathtaking surroundings of the private estate. The preparations quickly began in earnest, with hair and makeup sessions underway, setting the mood for a day filled with joy and celebration.
As the morning wore on, the energy continued to build. Camy, the talented florist from Lemonface, arrived at the villa, bringing with her an assortment of colourful bouquets and seven stylish handheld parasols for Suryn and her bridesmaids. These delicate touches added a layer of elegance to the morning’s atmosphere. Meanwhile, a member of the Sunshine Weddings team arrived to ensure everything was perfectly coordinated for the big day ahead.
The ceremony area was being carefully set up too. Down in the lower circle of the venue, the aisle was lined with rows of chairs, each shaded by large parasols to ensure every guest stayed comfortable under the sun. By mid-afternoon, Nick made his way to the villa, where he joined his groomsmen for some pre-ceremony photos taken by the talented destination wedding photographer, Talia. It was also the perfect moment for him to receive his buttonhole, adding the final touch to his look.
The ceremony space continued to evolve into a stunning setting. The U-shaped floral arch, designed by Lemonface, was filled with vibrant flowers and greenery, creating a picture-perfect backdrop. A white carpet, sprinkled with delicate red petals, led the way down the aisle. Nearby, a confetti station was set up, offering 60 cones for guests to celebrate the newlyweds, along with rustic white wicker baskets filled with parasols and fans for added comfort.
With every detail carefully attended to, the stage was perfectly set for Suryn and Nick to say their vows, and their wedding day was ready to unfold into an unforgettable celebration.
As guests arrived at the wedding villa, the atmosphere was set by the calming sounds of Nano, a talented Spanish guitarist. His gentle guitar strums filled the air, creating a relaxed mood as everyone took in the surroundings and chatted, eagerly awaiting the day ahead.
Groomsmen were stationed around the venue, offering a delightful range of welcome drinks to guests, from refreshing sangria and cold beers to a variety of soft drinks. The stunning 360-degree views of the surrounding mountains provided a breathtaking backdrop, adding to the sense of excitement and fun as conversations and laughter flowed freely among the guests.
As the pre-ceremony moments continued, the Sunshine Weddings team made sure to check in with Suryn, ensuring that every detail was in place for a special first-look photo with her father—a cherished, emotional moment before the ceremony began.
Once the time for the ceremony drew near, guests were gently guided toward the ceremony area, an open-air semicircular theatre nestled within the mountainside. The natural amphitheatre provided a striking and intimate setting for the ceremony. With eager anticipation, everyone took their seats, ready for the long-awaited moment to witness Suryn and Nick’s wedding ceremony—the culmination of months of planning and excitement.
Suryn and Nick’s ceremony took place in the lower circle of the venue, a quiet, open-air space surrounded by nature. As guests arrived and found their way down the white carpet aisle, Nano, the Spanish guitarist, played a soft version of “Canon in D,” which added a calm and thoughtful atmosphere to the start of the afternoon.
Groomsmen greeted guests at the entrance and helped them to their seats, making sure close family were placed up front. The ceremony setup was simple but beautiful—stone-wash Chiavari chairs arranged to face a stunning red and pink rose adorned floral arch, with mountain views in the distance.
Once everyone was seated, Minister Gareth began the ceremony. As Suryn and Nick stood together and exchanged vows, there was a quiet sense of focus and emotion from everyone watching. It was personal and genuine—exactly how they had wanted it. During the signing of the marriage documents, Nano played a soft instrumental piece that kept the moment peaceful and meaningful without any fuss.
The tone shifted as soon as the formal part was done. Nano started playing the Gipsy Kings’ “Bamboleo,” and the newlyweds made their exit to cheers and a flurry of confetti—a perfect end to a ceremony that felt both grounded and full of love.
After the ceremony, guests made their way to the drinks reception, held under a large, leafy pergola near the venue’s old stone gateway. The atmosphere was relaxed and fun as Suryn and Nick joined their 77 guests to unwind and enjoy the moment. With the Mediterranean Sea in the background and mountains surrounding them, it was the ideal spot to pause and celebrate.
Guests mingled in the shade, enjoying a spread of hot and cold canapés that offered something for everyone. From mini beef steaks on garlic croûtes with hollandaise or salsa verde, to chicken satay skewers with peanut sauce, and prawn ceviche spoons with lime and chilli—the food was fresh, flavourful, and beautifully presented. There were also vegetarian options like crostini with smoked aubergine caviar and mini fish cakes with a tomato and coriander salsa. Glasses of cava, cold beers, and soft drinks flowed steadily, making it a refreshing and social hour.
During this time, photographer Talia captured candid moments of the newlyweds, as well as some more posed shots beneath the pergola. Suryn and Nick looked completely at ease—laughing, chatting, and taking in the day. Family portraits were also ticked off the list, thanks to a well-planned schedule that ensured no one was left out.
As the hour wound down and guests finished their drinks, Nano wrapped up his final song. With the first call for dinner announced, everyone began to make their way toward the next part of the celebration.
As the afternoon faded into early evening, guests were invited to take their seats on the main terrace for the wedding breakfast. With panoramic views of the ocean stretching into the horizon, the space was set with round tables, including the top table positioned just beneath the amphitheatre—perfect for taking in the sunset.
Suryn and Nick made their entrance to Coldplay’s “A Sky Full of Stars,” introduced with enthusiasm by MC Seb, who brought plenty of energy and helped kick off the evening with a lively welcome. Guests raised glasses of cava or water in a celebratory toast as the newlyweds took their seats, ready to enjoy a well-earned meal with their closest friends and family.
Dinner was served alongside a 2.5-hour playlist of relaxed background music. Wine and cava flowed freely throughout the evening, especially during the speeches. Kenneth, the bride’s brother, opened with heartfelt words, followed by a warm and witty speech from Nick, and then a touching close from the best man—each speech earning laughs, cheers, and a few emotional moments.
For starters, guests shared a delicious selection of tapas: Spanish cured hams, cheeses, breads, prawn and bacon croquetas, saffron rice-stuffed piquillo peppers, and classic albondigas in spicy tomato sauce. The mains were served in relaxed style, with each table called up to choose from a trio of paella options: traditional mixed, chicken and chorizo, or chicken-only.
Dessert followed as a generous buffet spread, with something for every sweet tooth—white chocolate and raspberry cheesecake with berry compôte, rich chocolate profiteroles, truffle cake, lemongrass panna cotta, and a summery Sana Eton Mess with fresh berries, meringue, and cream.
As the last bites were enjoyed, Suryn and Nick snuck away for some golden hour photos—quiet moments for just the two of them, captured against the incredible backdrop of the setting sun.
Soon after, everyone gathered once again at the amphitheatre for one of the evening’s highlights: a champagne tower made up of 55 glasses in a five-tier structure. As the couple poured the bubbly, a timed pyrotechnic display lit up the sky—sparks shooting two metres high for 90 seconds, bringing gasps and applause from the crowd.
For the younger guests, a kids’ play area had been set up with games like giant Jenga and ring toss, while the adults stayed cool thanks to 20 portable fans placed across the dining tables. As night fell and the music picked up, Suryn changed into her evening dress—signalling it was time to hit the dance floor and let the party truly begin.
With dinner and speeches wrapped up, the celebration moved smoothly into party mode. The evening took place in a charming outdoor space beside the villa, where a local DJ teamed up with a live saxophonist to get the energy soaring. Their mix of crowd-pleasing tunes and upbeat sax melodies quickly filled the dance floor, and it stayed full well into the night. From the first track, it was clear this wasn’t going to be a quiet evening—everyone was ready to dance.
As the night deepened and midnight rolled around, the party shifted indoors to a sleek late-night lounge area. With music still going strong, this new space brought a different vibe—more intimate, but just as fun. Guests kept dancing, chatting, and laughing until the final track played out, capping off a truly unforgettable day.
But the fun didn’t end there.
The next day, Suryn and Nick invited everyone to keep the celebrations going with a chilled-out, post-wedding gathering at a stylish beach club along the Costa del Sol. With a private area reserved in the Zona Náutica, the setting offered the best of both worlds: casual beach vibes with a touch of luxury. Guests arrived from midday and spent the afternoon relaxing with sea views, cold drinks, and a delicious BBQ menu.
It was the perfect way to wind down, reflect on the incredible wedding, and squeeze in one more celebration before saying goodbye. The sunshine, sea breeze, and easygoing atmosphere brought the whole experience to a perfect close.
