Well, now the real fun begins as you wonder how to plan your destination wedding in the sunshine and our weekly bridal stories aim to help you visualise how your wedding day could come to life as we recall last season’s weddings, celebrated at different venues along the Costa del Sol.

Today we are delighted to feature one of our flagship venues, Finca Amalur, where the beautiful bridal couple Alex and Alex were joined as husband and wife last summer.

Located just five minutes from the city centre, this typical Spanish finca with its tropical gardens, provides unique scenery for a lovely and elegant wedding with amazing sea views. The several different landscaped spaces permit for a change of settings throughout the day and are perfect for a tailor-made wedding as we showcase in today’s bridal story.

The Day—in the most romantic garden of Marbella.

The wedding took place outdoors in the subtropical garden of this beautiful Spanish finca house on the last Sunday of August of last year. There the guests gathered at the entrance of the finca and under some shade sails enjoyed a welcome drink from the scented water station and Freixenet cava station whilst enjoying a moment of casual chit chat before being invited to the ceremony area.

To the sound of Ellie Goulding – “How Long Will I Love You”, the radiant bride, escorted by her father, arrived in the most stunning mermaid dress, fitted through the bodice, waist, and hips, before flaring out into a full skirt at the knee, and made her way towards the dashing groom who stood under a wooden four-posted wedding arbour—positioned between the two towering palm trees—decorated with abundant greenery and white flowers across the top of the frame. An exotic combination which made for the perfect setting for the intimate ceremony facing the glimmering Mediterranean sea.

The private, emotional and beautiful wedding ceremony finished to TIEKS’ upbeat “Sunshine” as the wedding guests threw white rose petals over the newlyweds during the recessional.

The cocktail hour—Oozing a sophisticated jet set vibe.

Afterwards, guests settled once again under the shade sails to enjoy some canapes and drinks, where a beer corner provided refreshments and tasty dishes including an assortment of Iberian products, cheese and sushi as well as prawn candles with romesco sauce, Iberian barbecue skewers, an assortment of croquettes and veal pepito, were handed during the one-hour, chill-out cocktail hour.

The venue’s gardens provided multiple spaces for stunning photo opportunities…

As guests continued sipping on refreshing sangrias and house cocktails, the newlyweds enjoyed a pre-sunset photo shoot at the hands of the hugely talented Rebecca Davidson who captured some stunning and warm-hearted exchanges thanks to the backdrop of exotic flowers and soft hazy Spanish sunset lighting.

Family photos were also taken before the wedding party were guided to the left hand side of the outdoor venue terrace and settled for an alfresco wedding breakfast which commenced as the newlyweds made a dazzling entrance between two bright sparklers. A delectable meal which included a choice of Iberian sirloin medallions, smoked potato mille feuille and mushrooms with crispy vegetable stick or Sea bass loin on artichoke hearts and wild asparagus with romesco tears for the mains. The exceptional menu was finished off with creamy white chocolate with brownie and vanilla ice cream and a choice of coffee and infusions.

Enhancing outdoor fairy lights created a dreamlike setup.

As dusk settled, enhancing outdoor décor, including an elegant network of fairy lights created a dreamy ambience in a space where moving, special and funny wedding speeches were said.

The magical fairy lights instantly brighten the evening and set the mood for the after-party celebrations, cue for all to hit the dance floor.

Between the two swaying palm trees the dancing commenced with the traditional first dance between the newlyweds to Seven lee Olsen’s “Just married” and continued with a night of grooving to the music provided by a local DJ combined with an amazing performance by popular Sax player, Leonardo.

As midnight struck, guests were invited to move into an indoor space where they were able to continue partying into the small hours and enjoyed a round of late night snacks, including: Ham and cheese brioches style, chistorra bites as well as an assortment of mini sponge cakes and wedding cake. There, the amazing food together with plenty of fun was the cherry on top of this fabulous wedding in the sunshine.
