In this interview with Marbella wedding videographer Jeremy Standley from Cinefoto he shares what inspires him, what challenges him and what sets him apart from everyone else.

Jeremy Standley
Marbella Wedding Videographer.

You are known for being an award-winning photographer, why did you decide to get involved in the video side?

A mixture of things; creative curiosity was the strongest. I would often watch films after weddings I had photographed and felt that they did not represent the feeling and emotion of the day. I want to produce creative films with strong composition and emotion, not just drones, gimbals and bad music choices

Tell us about your company, how did you get started?

We started Cinefoto to offer a one-stop service for photography and video, offering something different visually

Describe your company in five words or less:

Creative, innovative, professional, experienced, discreet.

Wedding Maids
The beautiful bridesmaids.

What sets you apart from other wedding videographers?

I think people approach wedding videos in different ways. For me I think a minimal creative approach is what works for me. The videographer’s’approach and presence will often dictate the type of film. ‘

What are some things couples should consider when looking for a videographer?

It is very personal, and will depend very much on each couple, budget, tastes – I would encourage clients to explore all options.

What is your favourite part of the day to capture?

Whichever part has the best light

What keeps you inspired?

With video I try and get inspiration from non-wedding film makers

How do you feel videography has changed in the last few years?

I am not sure the end product has changed all that much, despite changes in equipment. Composition will always be king and you cannot buy that

What is the most challenging part of your job?

Parking! Making a great wedding film is all challenging

When you’re not producing wedding videography or photography, what do you love to do?

It doesn’t leave that much time! I love riding my MTB, cooking (I am trying to be more vegan but the chopping takes up so much time). I also love to play cricket, stand-up paddle and I travel whenever possible

What are your favourite locations to work with?

I like all locations. We are very fortunate in Spain to have locations that vary so much.

Based on your experiences, what would you like every couple to know before contacting a wedding videographer?

I think it’s important to do your research, try and find someone whose work really resonates with you both
