Today, we whisk you into the heart of the Costa del Sol—into a lovingly restored rural estate nestling amid lush subtropical groves. Imagine 10,000m² of garden wonder, where ancient palm trees intertwine with avocado, almond, custard-apple, and orange groves; tropical fountains murmur in the breeze; and a majestic walnut tree, over a century old, casts a tranquil shade for feasts beneath. Set against the dramatic remnants of a 19th-century iron foundry and anchored by a grand manor whose entrance once belonged to a centuries-old chapel, this timeless retreat—just minutes from Marbella’s centre—offered the perfect, storybook setting in which Lauren and Daryl celebrated their June 18 Jewish wedding under the Spanish sun. The Wedding Morning – Anticipation and Preparation

Lauren and Daryl began their special day in keeping with tradition, preparing separately for the celebrations ahead. Lauren, joined by her Maid of Honour Courtney, woke in the luxurious Presidential Suite of a Marbella hotel, while Daryl enjoyed a calm start in a separate room at the same location.

By mid-morning, the bridal suite was alive with activity as hair and makeup got underway. At the same time, the Sunshine Weddings Spain team—led by founder and CEO Scott Gibbons—were already hard at work behind the scenes. Drawing on their extensive experience in organising Jewish weddings, they coordinated suppliers, oversaw logistics, and ensured the venue was perfectly set for the day ahead. Two bars were installed—one by the pool for the welcome drinks, the other in the dining area—while the florist, Carla, delivered bouquets and buttonholes that were swiftly distributed by the Best Men. Bridesmaids Nora and Denee soon arrived to support Lauren with her final preparations, while destination wedding photographer Nora captured candid moments throughout.

Meanwhile, Daryl’s preparations were in full swing, with his groomsmen readying themselves for photos and buttonholes pinned in place. At the venue, the Sunshine Weddings Spain team managed the finer details: ceremony seating with ten chairs on either side of the aisle, electric fans set out to keep guests cool, and 80 parasols carefully positioned for shade. Being a Jewish wedding, the chuppah was prepared with kosher wine, the ceremonial glass, and a serviette, ready for the symbolic breaking of the glass later in the ceremony.

The morning ran to a well-rehearsed rhythm—supplier arrivals, band collections, and sound checks all managed seamlessly. Emotional “first look” photos followed, including a touching moment between Lauren and her father, Julian, in the bridal suite. By mid-afternoon, transfers began for key members of the wedding party, including the Rabbi, ensuring everything and everyone was in place for a celebration that perfectly blended Jewish tradition with Marbella’s unique charm.

Welcome – A Joyful Gathering Under the Sun

Three large coaches had been pre-organised to collect guests from their accommodations in Marbella, while others made their way by taxi from nearby stays. On arrival, guests were warmly welcomed by the Sunshine Weddings Spain team, who guided them toward the Tish—a lively pre-ceremony tradition filled with music, conversation, and celebratory drinks. Set against the finca’s lush subtropical gardens and framed by the soft peaks of the Andalusian mountains, the atmosphere was already buzzing with anticipation.

Refreshing cocktails flowed from the poolside bar, and the hum of laughter and chatter mingled with the gentle playlist in the background. Guests admired the unique touches—low tables set for relaxed mingling, cocktail tables scattered beneath the palms, and shaded seating for comfort in the warm Spanish sunshine.

By late afternoon, all eyes began to turn towards the chuppah area. The mixed seating, cooled by fans and shaded by parasols, offered a perfect view of the beautifully decorated canopy. As the final groups arrived—including Lauren and her close family in a private Mercedes transfer—the excitement was palpable. The moment everyone had been waiting for was about to unfold.

Ceremony – Under the Chuppah in a Garden Paradise

With the late afternoon sun casting golden light over the lush gardens, guests were guided to their seats beneath the swaying palms and towering century-old walnut tree. At the aisle entrance, baskets of kippot awaited, along with chilled bottles of water—a thoughtful touch against the warm Spanish air. The scene was framed by the finca’s magnificent chuppah, set against the backdrop of the historic 19th-century foundry ruins and surrounded by groves of avocado, almond, and citrus trees.

As soft music drifted through the gardens, ushers carefully guided family members and close friends to their reserved seats, while parasols and hand-held fans ensured everyone remained comfortable in the Spanish sunshine. The procession began with parents, grandparents, and loved ones walking gracefully down the aisle, each step building anticipation for the moment to come. Then, all eyes turned as Lauren appeared—radiant in a soft mermaid-fit gown adorned with delicate embroidered flowers, pearl drop details, heart-shaped neckline, and thin straps, the look completed by a medium train that swept elegantly behind her. At her side, bridesmaids followed in flowing dresses that moved effortlessly in the warm Andalusian breeze, creating a picture-perfect entrance.

Midway down the aisle, Lauren’s father awaited to perform the bedeken—the traditional veiling that brought a touching pause to the anticipation. Beneath the beautifully adorned chuppah, the Rabbi then led a heartfelt ceremony, weaving together blessings, light-hearted moments, and tradition. When the vows were sealed, Daryl, looking sharp in a classic black suit, broke the glass to a chorus of “Mazel Tov!” and warm applause. Hand in hand, the couple made their exit, smiling as they moved to the nearby Tish area to sign their Ketubah with family and close friends.

Cocktail Hour – Poolside Celebration

Following the ceremony, guests made their way through the tropical gardens to the finca’s sparkling poolside terrace, shaded by giant palms and framed by views of the surrounding mountains. Waiters appeared with trays of cava, while the cocktail bar—set just beyond the water—began pouring colourful creations alongside a tempting selection of spirits and mixers. A saxophonist and bongo player added a vibrant, modern twist to the traditional hora spirit already in the air.

The canapés were served in style—beginning with a selection of refreshing, cool bites before moving on to warm delicacies that perfectly matched the balmy evening. Glasses clinked and laughter carried through the gardens as guests mingled beneath the shade of the trees, enjoying the relaxed start to the celebration.

In a quiet moment away from the crowd, Lauren and Daryl slipped off with their photographer Nora, to capture more timeless images against the venue’s most iconic backdrops: ivy-clad stone walls, romantic arches, and sunlit pathways lined with bougainvillea.

As the poolside gathering drew to a close, the energy built in anticipation of the first hora of the evening—a spirited dance that would see the celebration reach joyful new heights.

Wedding Breakfast – Feasting Under the Fairy Lights

As the golden light softened over the Andalusian hills, guests found their seats beneath the finca’s towering palms and twinkling fairy lights. The newlyweds enjoyed a quiet moment together with a plate of canapés and two signature cocktails before joining everyone on the dancefloor for one of the most spirited traditions of the day—Israeli dancing. The live band led the hora in a joyful whirl of clapping, stomping, and laughter, with Lauren and Daryl lifted high in their chairs to cheers from all sides.

Once the music eased, guests returned to their tables where bottles of chilled white, rosé, and robust red wine awaited. The father of the bride took the microphone to deliver a heartfelt speech that drew both smiles and a few misty eyes. Starters soon arrived, followed by the enticing aromas of a sizzling BBQ feast drifting through the gardens. The main bar under the old tree opened for the evening, while the cocktail bar briefly reappeared for guests craving something special. Between courses, the band played light sets, keeping the atmosphere warm and celebratory as the night edged towards the next big moment.

Party – Dancing into the Early Hours

As dessert trios were served, the energy began to climb again. Guests raised glasses of cava in a toast before enjoying two lively Best Man speeches and a heartfelt address from Daryl himself. Then came the couple’s first dance—a romantic moment that quickly turned into a non-stop live music set, filling the open-air dance floor with movement and laughter.

Late-night snacks appeared around the edge of the floor to refuel the merrymakers, just in time for the DJ to take over for the final, high-energy hour. Beneath the starlit sky, friends and family sang, danced, and celebrated as if the night might never end. Eventually, with hearts full and feet tired, guests made their way to the waiting coaches and taxis, carrying away the joy of a day—and night—that had blended love, tradition, and pure celebration in one unforgettable experience.
