Preparations Begin

The morning at the Spanish hacienda started quietly, with Emmie and Ryan honouring the tradition of staying apart until the ceremony. Ryan, dressed in his wedding suit, spent the early hours with his groomsmen, while Emmie began the day surrounded by her hair and makeup team and close friends.

By mid-morning, a team member from Sunshine Weddings Spain arrived to oversee the event setup. They unlocked the main gate, allowing vendors to begin their work. Among them was local florist Shona, who delivered arrangements that added a simple, fresh charm to the venue. As noon approached, Ryan and his groomsmen pitched in with practical tasks, such as moving sunbeds to clear the ceremony area. The preparations were on schedule, setting the stage for the day to unfold smoothly.

Welcome & Getting Ready

By early afternoon, the bridal party was fully ready, with hair, makeup, and all final touches complete. Emmie and Ryan’s destination photographer, the talented Agata, arrived to capture the last moments before the ceremony. She started in the bridal suite, photographing Emmie and her bridesmaids as they finished getting ready, making sure to capture the relaxed, yet exciting atmosphere of the morning. Afterward, Agata moved to the hacienda library where Ryan and his groomsmen had gathered, there Agata made sure to make sure to get a mix of candid moments and classic portraits pre-ceremony. Meanwhile, on the hacienda’s lush front lawn, the atmosphere was relaxed as guests began arriving. A curated 40-minute playlist played softly in the background, setting a welcoming tone. Refreshments were readily available, including cool water, sangria with fresh fruit, beer, and soft drinks.

Just before the ceremony began, Emmie shared an intimate first-look moment with her father, David. Agata captured the emotional exchange as David saw Emmie in her wedding dress for the first time—a quiet and meaningful moment between father and daughter. At the same time, Ryan and his best man, Liam, left the library and made their way to the ceremony area. They took their positions, greeted guests, and made sure everyone was seated in time for the procession to begin. With the ceremony about to start, the excitement and emotions were building.

Ceremony- Garden Vows

By mid-afternoon, the ceremony space on the upper lawn was set, with all four rows of white Chiavari chairs filled. Guests were seated as Ryan and his best man, Liam, made sure reserved seats were properly managed, while the music director began the playlist, signaling the start of the processional. The bridal party made their way down the aisle in the planned order: Lola and Rory led, followed by Beth and Nicole. Finally, Emmie entered, looking radiant in her A-line satin wedding gown, accompanied by her father, David. All eyes were on Emmie as she walked down the aisle, her father proudly by her side.

The ceremony was simple yet heartfelt, set against the hacienda’s elegant architecture and surrounded by greenery. In this outdoor space, guests listened as Emmie and Ryan exchanged vows, while live music played during key moments, adding a personal and memorable touch to the occasion. As the ceremony concluded, guests enjoyed live singing music before Emmie and Ryan exited to cheers and a shower of rose petals, marking their first moments as husband and wife. The newlyweds then joined their guests on the front lawn for drinks and a selection of hot and cold canapés. Guests mingled, offering their congratulations to the couple, while Agata took the opportunity to capture family photos. It was a relaxed moment for everyone to unwind, enjoy the food and drinks, and celebrate the couple’s new beginning.

Wedding Breakfast – Al fesco Buffet

As evening set in, the first call for dinner went out, and guests were directed to the back garden where tables were set with simple white tablecloths. Two more calls followed, and everyone was soon seated in the outdoor space, ready for the bridal party’s entrance. Emmie and Ryan made their entrance to Bang Bang by Will.i.am, with guests waving their napkins in the air, adding a fun touch to the moment.

The buffet was served in the romantic garden area at the heart of the hacienda, and guests lined up to enjoy the spread. The relaxed setup made it easy for everyone to mingle and enjoy their meal. Midway through the meal, cava was poured for the speeches. Emmie’s father, David, started with a thoughtful and heartfelt speech, followed by Ryan, who expressed his gratitude and shared a few personal stories. Liam, the best man, ended with a mix of humor and sincerity, keeping the guests engaged and entertained.

Dessert was served shortly afterward, and as the sun began to set, Emmie and Ryan stepped away for golden-hour photos, allowing them a quiet moment together while their guests continued to chat and enjoy the evening.

Party Time –  Hacienda’s Courtyard Setting

As night fell, the wedding party moved to the hacienda’s courtyard, which became the center of the celebration. The evening kicked off with the cava tower, poured by the newlyweds, and glasses were handed out so guests could raise a toast to Emmie and Ryan. Afterward, the couple shared their first dance, surrounded by family and friends. Once the dance ended, the dance floor opened, and DJ Fuller started his set, quickly lifting the energy in the courtyard. Guests joined in, filling the space with dancing and laughter, and sparklers were handed out, creating a festive atmosphere as guests lit them together, with Agata capturing the moment from above.

The night reached its peak when surprise saxophonist Demian arrived to perform alongside the DJ, blending live saxophone with the music and keeping the courtyard buzzing with energy. The bar stayed open until just before midnight as guests continued to dance and enjoy the night. As the music softened and the bar closed, the party naturally began to wind down, giving everyone a chance to reflect on the unforgettable day. Emmie and Ryan’s wedding at this Mijas Hacienda was a well-planned event that flowed seamlessly from start to finish, leaving lasting memories.

A big thank you to Emmie and Ryan for trusting us with your special day. It was a pleasure working with you both, and we wish you a lifetime of happiness. We’d also like to extend our gratitude to all our vendors for their professionalism and hard work in making another magical wedding a reality.
