Rustic Villa Wedding In Mijas, Malaga…

In part one we met Jennie and R.B who had opted for an off-the-beaten-track rustic villa wedding in Mijas. Today we share their wedding day highlights with you.

The time has come

While Jennie was getting ready and everything was being set up, guests were able to enjoy the sunshine, chilling out around the pool. Jennie’s wedding beauty team consisted of Alex looking after the hair and Nicola on make-up. As Jennie has extremely sensitive skin and wasn’t able to have a make-up trial before her wedding day, she was rather nervous about her bridal look.

Sunshine Weddings Spain worked closely with Jennie and make-up artist Nicola and to make sure any nerves were calmed. Jennie booked a trial with a mineral based make-up brand in America and then, following Nicola’s advice, bought certain products from the range so that Nicola was able to recreate the same look on the day without Jennie’s skin flaring up. Everything worked out perfectly – where there is a will there is a way.

Just before the ceremony Scott came into the bridal suite to talk Jennie and her bridal party through the next stages and help ease any nerves, before leaving the family to have a moment together.

The ceremony took place in a quaint courtyard while a local Spanish guitarist played the couple’s chosen songs, ‘Can’t Help Falling In Love’ and ‘Ave Maria’. After an emotional ceremony, guests enjoyed cocktails and a buffet of Spanish cheese and jamón while a flamenco guitarist performed.

Food for thought

The wedding breakfast was served in front of the pool, allowing guests to dine under the stars. Traditional Gazpacho was served, followed by a choice of Beef or Sea Bass. A close family member who owned a vineyard in Catalunya brought a whole car full of wines from his collection for everyone to enjoy that evening,

After the speeches the first dance was split into two, with father and daughter taking to the stage for the second part. After a two hour set from the live band the nightclub opened at 11pm.

One of the great things about this venue is it gives you privacy that is completely unattainable at the hotel and there are no time restrictions which meant the guests carried on parting into the early hours.

Here is the testimonial from Jennie to Sunshine Weddings Spain.

You guys get 5 stars from us!!! We couldn’t have had this most perfect day without your help. When I first reached out early last year, Susie was so kind, thorough and helpful with everything. Then she handed things off to you, Camilla, and you were so patient and helpful over the past year. Thank you so incredibly much. And Scott is amazing! Both times we met with him pre-wedding (November and then again 4 days before the wedding), he set us at ease and made us feel so relaxed and comfortable.

The wedding day ran so incredibly smooth thanks to him! I was shielded from a lot of what was going on that day (because people didn’t want me to have to think/stress about any details that day), but from what I heard, he had everything under complete control and everything was perfect.
