Today we are delighted to share Vanessa and Craig’s fabulous wedding day, celebrated at the start of last year’s wedding season after being postponed by a year due to the Covid pandemic.

The Venue—a wonderful and popular Andalucian cortijo, perfect for weddings

Set in the picturesque foothills of Mijas Costa, just a 20 minutes drive from one of Spain’s busiest international airports, this impressive 10 bedroomed Hacienda can sleep 25 guests, making it the ideal place to stay with your loved ones pre and post-wedding day. With panoramic views of both the beautiful Spanish countryside and the shimmering coastline, this country villa proffers a private and relaxed location for you and your guests to celebrate in style, as was the case of the wonderful Vanessa and Craig whose wedding day unfolds in the most magical way…

In a space that offers 360º views of rustic Spanish countryside and distant views of the sparkling coastline, the guests gathered and enjoyed the sound of classic romantic songs whilst enjoying a moment of easy mingling and some refreshing drinks; glass of prosecco, beer from a beer bucket stand, water or soft drinks.

The Ceremony—On the upper side lawn flanked by swaying palm trees

From there the wedding guests were ushered to be seated in the ceremony area which had been set up in the lush green gardens of the hacienda. There an elegant wedding arbour, with drapes and bright yellow sunflowers entwined with white daisies stood, gifting a bright and summer-like vibe to the affair.

Beautiful pre-sunset photos of the bridal couple taken by the talented Isabel Benchetrit.

To the sound of Bella’s Lullaby playing in the background, the beautiful bride made her entrance and was joined in marriage to the dashing groom in a beautiful wedding ceremony—full of tender moments, love and laughter—led by wedding Minister Gareth.

Once the emotive vows were said, the rings exchanged and the marriage contract signed, beautifully captured by the talented Isabel Benchetrit who did a fantastic job snapping all the magical and fun moments of the day, Craig and Vanessa, now as husband and wife enjoyed a romantic recessional dance to Cold Play’s “My Universe.”

On the lower lawn, surrounded by viridescent expanses of grass and stunning views of the glimmering coastline, the newlyweds joined their guests for some refreshments and a selection of two hot and three cold canopies including: Italian fried cheese with marmalade sauce, canapé spoons of paprika, garlic and chilli prawns, buckwheat blinis with Japanese mayonnaise, smoked salmon and sprouting onion seeds and forks of potato and Onion tortilla with saffron aioli. All the while enjoying the glorious Mediterranean weather and a catchy playlist.

Dinner was then served in the lush back garden area of this magnificent Hacienda, a relaxed location for all to enjoy the wedding breakfast in comfort and style. In this dreamy space the wedding guests were treated to a magnificent feast, which commenced with a serving of pots of chicken parfait with red onion marmalade, dressed leaves and baguette toasts as well as griddled chicken salad with baby gem lettuce, shaved parmesan, baked croutons, crispy pancetta and caesar dressing for starters, including a vegetarian option which was then followed by an option of market cod with toasted garlic creamy aioli sauce, seasonal vegetables and sautéed potatoes or roasted chicken breast with Spanish seasonal roots and couscous stack with chicken Jus and red pepper sauce for the mains. And to finish off this mouthwatering feast sweet churros rolled in cinnamon sugar with a hot chocolate sauce for dipping.

The party—dancing under the starlit sky

Before night fell, Craig and Vanessa were whisked up to the tower above the bridal suite, an enchanted space with sweeping 360º views of the grounds, which made for a stunning photo opportunity taken at the hands of the talented Isabel Benchetrit for some magical pre-sunset photos before joining their guests on the dance floor for their first dance, Ed Sheran’s “One Life.” A touching moment which was then followed by four hours of open bar, non-stop music and late night snacks which saw everyone through to 1:30am sealing the most magical of days.
