Looking for a romantic backdrop for your traditional Spanish wedding? Step into a world of sunshine with this luxury boutique hotel wedding venue set in the heart of the Malaga countryside.
Today we share a sneak peek into one of the most exclusive wedding venues in Nerja, a boutique Hotel nestled in the Malaga ‘campo’, as we walk through Joanne and Kane dream day celebrated last September at this wonderous Andalusian finca.
Designed to depict a 19th century Spanish hacienda, this Boutique Hotel, with 20 bedrooms is the perfect combination of luxury and country charm, making it the perfect place to stay with your nearest and dearest on the run up to your special day, just as was the case of the wonderful bridal couple, Joanne and Kane, who spent four nights at the hotel with their family and friends, permitting all to enjoy the buzzing Costa del Sol, which is jam packed with exciting family activities.
On the eve of their wedding the bridal couple joined their guests for a delicious tapas dinner, before the proper wedding celebrations kicked-off early the following morning. By 8:30am Joanne had her bridal hairstylist, the talented Flavia, and makeup artist, Kerstin with her and the bridal preparations commenced.
Meanwhile the ceremony area, in the hotel’s pretty grounds and tropical gardens, amongst the swaying palms and fragrant flowers, was set up with 72 chairs to ensure that all the guests could be seated comfortably the moment the ceremony commenced.
Bridal couples have the option of marrying in the nearby church, however, on this occasion, Joanne and Kane opted to say “I do” beneath the shelter of a small pergola.
At exactly 4 pm the bride, looking truly radiant, made her way down the outdoor aisle towards the dashing groom who was waiting for her under the pergola where they were joined by humanist minister Jeff Gruner performing the official declaration of marriage.
With views to the mountains and vineyards in the distance the marriage vows and rings were exchanged in a beautiful ceremony which brought a tear or two to several bearing witnesses of the union.
The guests then threw rose petals as the newlyweds made their way back down the aisle where everyone gathered together in a typical Spanish patio in the centre of the building, the ideal place for all to enjoy a post-ceremonial cocktail before dinner.
Following on from that, the guests were invited to move inside the building for dinner. There the wedding guests were offered a fantastic feast including lobster lasagna with crab bechamel or goats cheese salad for starters and a main course of lamb with couscous and sweet potato or sea bass with potatoes and pumpkin sautee, and a heavily white chocolate or mango mousse for dessert.
After dinner, everyone was once again invited to go outside which had been charmingly decorated with whimsical fairy lights along the outdoor salon terrace, the surrounding trees and an additional fairy light curtain behind the DJ.
But before the guests enjoyed DJ Fuller’s catchy playlist, they were all treated to 90 minutes of funky music by popular music band Cool Fire Band, the perfect ending to an unforgettable wedding in the sunshine surrounded by friends and family.
