Each week, we invite you to step into the heart of Spain with us—sharing real bridal stories, and stunning venue highlights to help spark ideas for your dream destination wedding. Today, we’re thrilled to take you to the breathtaking coastline of Nerja, where dramatic cliffs meet the sparkling Mediterranean Sea and centuries of Andalusian history create the perfect backdrop for unforgettable celebrations.
In today’s feature, we’ll look back at Rebecca and Stephen’s wedding day, from the morning preparations through to an evening of music, dancing and celebration. Along the way, we’ll explore what makes this wedding villa where they celebrated such a popular choice for couples planning a destination wedding on the Costa del Sol. So settle in, take a deep breath, and let yourself be transported to the golden hills of Andalucía—where wedding dreams come to life.

Nestled within the spectacular Maro-Cerro Gordo Natural Park, this extraordinary wedding villa is unlike anywhere else on the Costa del Sol. Rich in history and surrounded by over 5,000 square metres of protected native landscape, the estate effortlessly blends rustic Andalusian charm with elegant wedding luxury.
Originally built as an olive oil mill and the miller’s residence during the 18th century, every corner of the estate tells a story. While carefully restored to create a luxurious wedding venue, its authentic character remains beautifully preserved, giving couples a setting that feels both timeless and wonderfully romantic. Surrounded by olive trees, pine trees, palms and shaded garden pathways, the venue makes the most of its beautiful natural setting. Whether you’re exchanging vows beneath the Tunnel of Lights, enjoying cocktails overlooking the gardens or dining under the stars on the spacious terraces, each area offers a different experience while flowing smoothly into the next.
One of the many reasons couples fall in love with this venue is its ability to host every moment of the day in one spectacular location. Better still, the beautifully restored Molinero House allows up to ten guests to stay onsite, creating a relaxed wedding weekend where close family and friends can truly enjoy every precious moment together. It was here, on a beautiful June day last season, that Rebecca and Stephen gathered with their loved ones to celebrate the beginning of their married life.

Bridal wedding mornings always carry a unique kind of energy, and Rebecca’s was no exception. With sunshine already warming the gardens, the villa slowly came to life as hair and makeup preparations began inside the beautiful Andalusian house. Surrounded by her bridal party and closest family, there was a wonderful mix of laughter, anticipation and those quiet moments that make wedding mornings so memorable.
As preparations continued, the Sunshine Weddings Spain team arrived onsite to coordinate the day’s setup, making sure everything was in place ahead of the celebrations. Soon afterwards, the florist began transforming the ceremony space, adding elegant floral touches to the ceremony arch while the reception areas were dressed with beautiful round tables, crisp white linens and carefully considered details that reflected Rebecca and Stephen’s vision perfectly.
Meanwhile, photographer Talia from Thoroughly Gorgeous and drone photographer Kevin arrived to begin documenting the day, capturing everything from the bridal details and final preparations to those genuine moments shared between loved ones. Elsewhere across the estate, musicians rehearsed together beneath the Andalusian sunshine, preparing for what would become an emotional ceremony accompanied entirely by live music.
One particularly touching moment came before guests arrived, when Rebecca shared a private first look with her father in the upper courtyard. Away from the excitement, it became one of those treasured memories that neither of them will ever forget.

As guests arrived through the lower entrance of the estate, they were welcomed into the beautiful surroundings that make this venue so special. Gentle flamenco music performed by local Spanish guitarist Nano provided the perfect soundtrack as guests enjoyed chilled cava, beer and refreshing water before making their way to the ceremony. With time to wander through the grounds, everyone could take in the venue’s peaceful setting and impressive views.
Mature trees offered plenty of natural shade, while the landscaped gardens and terraces encouraged guests to explore the different areas of the estate before the celebrations began. The combination of historic buildings, beautiful gardens and the surrounding natural park creates a setting that feels both relaxed and private, making it hard to believe you’re hosting a celebration of up to 300 guests.
Wherever you look, there are wonderful backdrops for photographs—from the rustic stone buildings and Andalusian courtyard to the tree-lined gardens and views across the surrounding countryside towards the Mediterranean.

One of the venue’s most memorable ceremony spaces is the enchanting Tunnel of Lights. Set beneath a natural canopy of trees, the aisle is framed by woven branches that create a beautiful walkway leading to a wooden ceremony arch dressed with soft white draping and vibrant seasonal flowers in shades of orange, white and blue. It offers an idyllic setting for an outdoor wedding, surrounded by nature yet thoughtfully styled to feel elegant and intimate.
As guests took their seats beneath white parasols, anticipation quietly filled the air. Stephen waited at the altar alongside his closest friends, while family members made their entrance one by one. Then came Rebecca’s moment…
Accompanied by her father, she walked down the aisle wearing a timeless, fitted crepe gown with delicate straps and a flowing cathedral-length veil that swept gracefully behind her. Carrying a bouquet that echoed the bright floral arrangements surrounding the ceremony, she made her way towards Stephen as Auntie Debbie performed a heartfelt rendition of Songbird by Eva Cassidy, accompanied by Nano on guitar. It was an emotional entrance that brought smiles—and more than a few happy tears—from those gathered.
The ceremony itself struck the perfect balance between heartfelt, personal and relaxed. Family readings added an extra layer of meaning, while the live music created an atmosphere that felt warm and intimate throughout. One particularly touching moment saw a memory candle lit in honour of Stephen’s father—a simple but meaningful tribute that ensured he remained part of the celebration.
After exchanging vows and rings beneath the floral arch, Rebecca and Stephen were pronounced husband and wife before walking back down the aisle together to Nano’s uplifting performance of Here Comes the Sun. As family and friends applauded, the smiles on their faces said it all. Their married life had officially begun.

After congratulations from family and friends, celebrations continued on the Upper Terrace surrounding the beautiful swimming pool. Guests enjoyed relaxed drinks beneath parasols while taking in panoramic views across the gardens. Nano continued performing upbeat flamenco music, perfectly complementing the warm Andalusian afternoon. Meanwhile, Rebecca and Stephen spent time with photographer Talia capturing portraits around the estate.
With its historic stone walls, shaded woodland, olive trees and elegant courtyards, there is no shortage of breathtaking photography locations here. After the family photographs, Rebecca and Stephen returned to their guests to enjoy the drinks reception together. A special standout moment came as everyone gathered together for an incredible aerial drone photograph, showcasing not only all of Rebecca and Stephen’s loved ones but also the spectacular scale of this hidden estate.
Before dinner, the couple were treated to a few peaceful moments alone. Away from the celebrations, they enjoyed canapés and cold drinks while taking everything in together—a small but incredibly valuable pause during such an exciting day.

As guests made their way towards the beautifully dressed dining terrace, the atmosphere shifted from relaxed cocktail hour to elegant evening celebration. Round tables dressed in crisp white linen sat beneath the open sky, surrounded by mature trees and the warm glow of the venue’s natural surroundings. Thoughtful personal touches appeared throughout the reception. A handcrafted wooden seating plan welcomed guests into the dining area, while the Instax guestbook invited friends and family to leave photographs alongside heartfelt messages.
Ice cream vouchers added a fun local twist to the wedding favours, celebrating one of Nerja’s best-loved traditions. Nearby, the memory candle remained beautifully displayed, continuing to honour Stephen’s father throughout the evening.
As Rebecca and Stephen made their grand entrance, cheers erupted across the terrace. The celebrations continued with a series of heartfelt speeches delivered by family and friends. There were stories that made everyone laugh, memories that brought happy tears and words of encouragement as the newlyweds began this exciting new chapter together.
With the Mediterranean evening settling over the gardens, guests enjoyed exceptional cuisine while conversations flowed between tables. The setting felt effortlessly elegant without ever losing its warm, welcoming atmosphere. This is exactly what destination weddings in Spain are all about—bringing people together in beautiful surroundings where everyone can truly relax and enjoy the celebration.

As dusk turned into evening, attention turned towards the party terrace where the next chapter of the celebrations awaited. Rebecca and Stephen shared their first dance together to Home to You by Sigrid—a beautiful choice that perfectly reflected their journey together.
Moments later, the vibe transformed completely as Beat 3 joined in with an energetic performance of September. Within seconds, the dance floor was full. The combination of live music and DJ Maxee kept the celebrations flowing non-stop throughout the evening. Guests danced beneath the stars, surrounded by softly illuminated gardens and the magical atmosphere that only outdoor weddings in southern Spain can offer.
Earlier in the evening, Rebecca and Stephen also enjoyed their symbolic cake cutting. Although the beautifully presented cake wasn’t served, it provided another lovely moment for photographs while adding a personal family touch thanks to Stephen’s mum creating the stunning display cake. As the evening unfolded, laughter echoed across the terraces while generations of family and friends celebrated together well into the night.
It was the perfect ending to an unforgettable day.

Every wedding venue tells its own story, some impress through luxury, others through scenery.
This remarkable estate manages to offer both, while adding something far rarer—authentic character. Its fascinating history, protected natural surroundings and thoughtful layout allow every stage of a wedding day to feel completely different while remaining beautifully connected. Couples can prepare together onsite, exchange vows beneath ancient trees, enjoy cocktails overlooking lush gardens, dine beneath the stars and dance the night away—all without ever leaving the estate. Its close proximity to Nerja’s beaches, local accommodation and Málaga Airport also makes it incredibly convenient for destination wedding guests travelling from abroad.
