Today, we’re visiting an Andalusian farmhouse surrounded by subtropical trees, ideal for a wedding under the Spanish sun. Despite its rustic exterior, this farmhouse is a modern hotel designed to reflect Old Andalusian charm, blending colonial style with contemporary comforts.

Nestled in the Malaga countryside, this venue can host up to 250 guests, offering more than just space—it provides an ageless setting for wedding celebrations. Join us as we discover the fusion of Andalusian and colonial styles that make this rural retreat a place where dreams come true, just as they did for Rebecca and Chan, who celebrated their vows here last April.
Both Rebecca and Chan woke up at a nearby boutique hotel, the sister hotel to where their wedding celebration was to be held. This arrangement allowed the bridal couple and their guests to stay together, making it convenient to share special moments with loved ones.
The bridal preparations took place at this sister boutique hotel. There, in the bridal suite, stylist Nora began hair and makeup early in the morning, meanwhile photographer Issy arrived to start capturing the day’s moments, beginning with the bridal preparations, while florist Janne delivered a simple, elegant bouquet of long-stem white roses for the bride, along with buttonholes made of Vendela roses and a touch of greenery. As mid-morning approached, wedding planner Caz from the Sunshine Weddings Spain team arrived at the venue to ensure the final touches were perfect and to oversee the smooth running of the day.
At noon, just as photographer Issy was finishing a photo session with the groomsmen, a pre-arranged coach service arrived to transport guests, the groom, and the groomsmen to the wedding venue. Shortly after, a Mercedes E-Class arrived to take the bride and bridesmaids to the venue. Upon arrival, guests were greeted by Caz, who guided them to the ceremony area. Surrounded by the natural beauty of Nerja, the setting perfectly hinted at the romantic day ahead.

Following a warm welcome, Rebecca and Chan’s wedding guests were invited to be seated in the ceremony area, set up in the subtropical garden of this charming country house. Under the expertise of florist Janne Valentin, the ceremony area, a picturesque garden gazebo, had been adorned with a tasteful arrangement of white flowers and greenery, creating an ideal floral backdrop for the intimate ceremony.
As the ceremony began, the melodic tunes of “Until I Found You” (Piano Version) by Stephen Sanchez played, marking the bridal entrance. Rebecca, radiant in an off-the-shoulder trumpet bridal dress with a mid-length veil, gracefully made her way down the outdoor aisle. Chan, standing under the picturesque garden gazebo, looked sharp in a black suit, white shirt, and bow tie. Together, they were joined as husband and wife by local English-speaking Minister Gareth, who officiated the ceremony.
After exchanging vows and rings, the couple signed their marriage certificate while “Signed, Sealed, Delivered” by Stevie Wonder played, adding a melodious touch to the proceedings. The newlyweds then exited to the timeless hit “Latch” by Disclosure, marking the start of their journey as a married couple. Confetti made of rose petals showered over them as they walked down the aisle.
Following the ceremony, the couple and their guests moved to the reception area for a celebratory drink, ready to continue the festivities in this enchanting, garden setting.

The front of the salon terrace hosted a lively drinks reception. Soft drinks, beer, wine, tinto de verano, and water flowed freely, accompanied by a delectable array of typical Spanish-style canapés, ranging from marinated sardines to fresh ricotta and mushroom pasta. The atmosphere was enlivened by the serenades of sax player Demian, who created a vibrant, celebratory vibe. During this time, family photos were snapped, capturing the fun-filled moments.
By mid-afternoon, the first call for dinner was announced, and Chan and Rebecca slipped away to a quiet spot where they enjoyed canapés and glasses of Cava for a private, romantic toast. After this brief respite, they rejoined their guests for the wedding banquet, ready to continue the festivities and create more unforgettable memories.

Rebecca and Chan made a grand entrance into dinner, announced with fanfare and the lively tune of “September” by Earth, Wind & Fire, while guests waved their napkins in celebration. The dinner was held in an indoor space with floor-to-ceiling windows that showcased sweeping views of the surrounding Spanish countryside. The menu featured a BBQ spread and a salad buffet, including German salad with potatoes, onions, sausages, and mustard, Caesar salad with lettuce, bacon, chicken, toasted bread, garlic, and mustard sauce, and Caprese salad with tomato, mozzarella cheese, basil, and pine nuts, with a vegan option minus the mozzarella. Additionally, there was Andalusian gazpacho with olive oil ice cream for vegan guests. The BBQ included bratwurst, chicken steaks, pork sirloin brochettes, prawn brochettes, chorizo, baked potatoes, sautéed vegetables, and chips.
For dessert, there was a fruit buffet and a selection of homemade pastries. As the speeches were delivered, filled with heartfelt sentiments and moments of laughter, the atmosphere buzzed with joy and a few happy tears. With the formalities complete, it was time to shift the focus to the dance floor and lace up those dancing shoes.

After dinner, DJ Michelle took charge of the evening’s entertainment, starting a four-hour session that kicked off the night’s festivities. The celebration began with the couple’s first dance to Miguel’s “Adorn,” marking the start of a fun-filled evening. With DJ Dave James on the decks and a lively photobooth set up, the happy couple, along with friends and family, enjoyed a night of dancing—a perfect end to a beautiful day.
A huge thank you to the lovely couple, Rebecca and Chan, for sharing your special day with us. We wish you all the best as you embark on this next chapter of life. And a special thanks to Issy for capturing these incredible images.

Choosing a destination wedding is a fantastic way to create an unforgettable experience for you and your guests. While many options are available, celebrating your special day at a boutique hotel offers a range of unique benefits that can make your wedding both intimate and extraordinary. Here’s why a boutique hotel could be the perfect choice for your destination wedding.
One of the standout benefits of a boutique hotel is the personalized service it offers. Unlike large, impersonal venues, boutique hotels are renowned for their attention to detail and individual care. The smaller scale enables the staff to focus on your specific needs and preferences, allowing Sunshine Weddings Spain to seamlessly collaborate with the venue’s team to bring your wedding vision to life. Boutique hotels excel in creating a luxurious and intimate experience that feels uniquely tailored to you.
A boutique hotel offers an exclusive and private setting for your wedding. With fewer rooms and guests compared to larger hotels or resorts, you can enjoy a more secluded atmosphere, making the experience feel more intimate and special. This exclusivity allows you and your guests to fully immerse yourselves in the celebration without the distractions or crowds often found in larger venues. It’s your private paradise, where you can create memories with your loved ones in a setting that feels uniquely yours.
Boutique hotels are celebrated for their distinctive character and charm. Often designed with a strong sense of local culture and history, these hotels offer a one-of-a-kind backdrop for your wedding. Whether it’s a historic mansion, a charming countryside retreat, or a chic urban hideaway, the unique style of a boutique hotel adds a touch of elegance and personality to your wedding. The distinctive features and décor create stunning photo opportunities and contribute to a memorable atmosphere that stands out from generic wedding venues.

Celebrating your wedding at a boutique hotel in a destination location allows you to infuse your celebration with local flavor and culture. From regional cuisine and traditional customs to unique local venues, you can embrace the essence of the destination and create an authentic experience for your guests. Additionally, boutique hotels often provide insights and recommendations for local attractions and activities, allowing your guests to explore and enjoy the area during their stay.
A boutique hotel offers a more personalized and comfortable experience for your guests. With a focus on quality over quantity, the accommodations are typically more luxurious and thoughtfully designed. This ensures that your guests enjoy a higher level of comfort and service during their stay. The intimate setting also fosters a stronger sense of community among your guests, enhancing their overall experience and making your wedding a truly memorable occasion.
The distinctive character and aesthetic appeal of a boutique hotel provide a stunning backdrop for your wedding photos. Whether it’s the charming architecture, beautifully landscaped gardens, or uniquely styled interiors, these hotels offer a variety of picturesque settings for capturing your special moments. The result is a collection of photos that reflect the beauty and individuality of your chosen venue, adding to the overall magic of your wedding day.
One of the most significant advantages of a boutique hotel for a destination wedding is the ability to stay with all your guests in the same place. This creates a seamless extension of your wedding day, allowing for a continuous celebration from start to finish. With everyone accommodated on-site, you can enjoy relaxed and spontaneous interactions, shared meals, and group activities, further strengthening the bonds among your loved ones. This unified experience not only enhances the sense of togetherness but also ensures that every moment of your wedding journey is spent in the company of those who matter most.
