Bridal Morning – Final Touches Before “I Do”

After months of careful planning, Lucy and Jake’s wedding day had finally arrived. Every detail—from seating arrangements and transport to floral selections and personalised favours—had been organised with precision. Now, with the morning underway, the excitement was tangible.

In the bridal suite, Lucy was joined by her bridesmaids and her mother. The atmosphere was upbeat, filled with laughter, a few emotional moments, and the realisation that the big day had come. Hairstylist and makeup artist Ella Megan worked with focus and efficiency, moving between each person and finishing Lucy’s look with a subtle touch that enhanced her natural features.

Shortly after, florist Karen Deseos delivered the final floral pieces: Lucy’s bouquet, matching arrangements for her bridesmaids, and buttonholes for the groomsmen. While Lucy and the bridal party continued their preparations, the groomsmen gathered in a separate area to pin on their boutonnieres and share some final laughs before the ceremony.

Meanwhile, a member from the Sunshine Weddings Spain team was onsite, checking the schedule and finalising the ceremony setup. Rustic wooden chairs dressed in white cloth were positioned neatly, with white rose petals scattered down the aisle—creating a simple but romantic scene for Lucy and Jake’s vows.

Photographer Rebecca Davidson arrived to capture the morning moments: candid shots in the bridal suite, and the emotional first look between Lucy and her father. At the same time, Jake and his groomsmen met with a member of the Sunshine Weddings Spain team for a final rundown of the timeline, making sure everything was set.

With the final details checked, guests began arriving. The venue was ready. Lucy and Jake were about to begin the next chapter—surrounded by friends, family, and in the setting they had dreamed of.

Welcome – The Spanish Vibes Begin

As guests arrived at the cortijo, the groomsmen were there to greet them with smiles and offered a choice of refreshing drinks—whether sangria, beer, soft drinks, or just water. With a drink in hand, everyone took a moment to unwind and soak up the beautiful views of the Spanish countryside stretching out around them.

Playing nearby was Nano, a talented flamenco guitarist, whose gentle melodies filled the air with that unmistakable Andalucian spirit. His music perfectly set the tone, making everyone feel the magic of southern Spain right from the start.

The Ceremony – A Moment to Remember

Lucy and Jake said their vows on a beautiful lawn inside the finca, with the stunning Mediterranean Sea sparkling in the background. The space was decorated simply but beautifully, with whitewashed floral stands holding soft roses and rose petals scattered along the aisle—creating a late summer, bohemian vibe.

Their ceremony was led by Gareth, a friendly English-speaking minister based on the Costa del Sol, who mixed heartfelt moments with a bit of light humour to keep things relaxed and genuine. Throughout the ceremony, Nano’s flamenco guitar played softly, building up to an upbeat version of “Bamboleo” by the Gipsy Kings as Lucy and Jake walked back up the outdoor aisle as husband and wife.

Guests showered them with rose petals, celebrating this happy start to their new life together. After the ceremony, everyone gathered for drinks and laughter, ready to enjoy a night full of love and celebration in this warm, welcoming Andalucian cortijo.

The Cocktail Hour – Relaxed Poolside Vibes

After the ceremony, guests moved poolside to enjoy a laid-back cocktail hour with tasty bites and refreshing drinks. The finca’s outdoor pool made a beautiful backdrop as everyone mingled and snacked on a range of delicious canapés. There were plenty of options to choose from—marinated tuna with soy, lime, and ginger; delicate salmon skewers with fresh herbs; tuna tataki on mini kimchi cucumber sandwiches; sushi rolls; chicken pita kebabs; savory steak sliders; quiches made with local Payoyo cheese; and flavorful chicken barbecue skewers.

Drinks flowed freely, with unlimited sangria, beer, and water keeping everyone refreshed while Nano’s Spanish guitar played once again, softly in the background, adding to the relaxed, celebratory vibe.

During the cocktail hour, Lucy and Jake slipped away for some private pre-sunset photos. Bathed in the soft evening light, they shared a few quiet moments, framed by the finca’s greenery and rustic charm. Afterwards, they rejoined their family for some group photos to capture those special memories.

With laughter, clinking glasses, and live music filling the air, the cocktail hour was the perfect way to transition from the ceremony to the evening’s celebrations—setting the tone for a truly unforgettable night ahead.

The Wedding Breakfast – Dinner Among the Palms

After the cocktail hour, guests were guided to a beautiful garden space surrounded by tall palm trees. With the Mediterranean stretching out in the distance, it was the perfect spot for the wedding breakfast. Tables were dressed in white linens with simple floral touches, giving the area an elegant yet relaxed, rustic feel that fit perfectly with the natural setting.

The meal was a generous barbecue spread, featuring favourites like grilled steaks, chicken skewers, and sausages. Spanish flavours shone through with dishes such as charred chorizo, grilled peppers, fresh tomato salads, and roasted vegetables. Everyone enjoyed their dinner under the open sky, raising glasses of chilled cava as the evening progressed and the all-important speeches began.

When the final toast was made, guests were invited to the dance floor to officially start the celebrations. The night then unfolded into a lively, unforgettable evening filled with music, dancing, and fun beneath the stars.

The Party – A Night to Remember

After the wedding breakfast, the real party got started. A local DJ and saxophonist teamed up to keep everyone moving with a fantastic mix of tunes that had guests dancing late into the night. To make sure everyone got home safe and sound, there was a transfer service on standby to shuttle people back to their places in nearby Estepona. It was the perfect ending to an incredible day—one where every little detail came together to make Lucy and Jake’s wedding truly unforgettable.

The Day After – A Laid-Back Celebration

The next afternoon, Lucy and Jake invited close family and friends for a chilled-out lunch by the pool. It was a great way to relax and keep the good vibes going, sharing laughs and memories from the day before over good food and drinks. Everyone just enjoyed being together in a casual, comfortable setting.

A huge thank you to Lucy and Jake for letting us be part of their big day and trusting us to help bring your vision to life. Here’s wishing you a lifetime full of happiness and love!

Gracias, too, to Rebecca Davidson for capturing all those beautiful moments that showcase this bridal story so well.
