Morning Preparations: Calm Moments Before the Celebration

The wedding morning began across two beautiful locations on the Costa del Sol. Emma spent the morning surrounded by her closest family and bridal party at Alcazaba Beach in Estepona, while Charlie prepared with his groomsmen at a nearby villa tucked away in San Pedro.

As the Andalusian sunshine poured through the windows, hair and makeup preparations began early. Makeup artist Ella arrived in the morning to begin creating Emma’s effortlessly elegant bridal look, while bridesmaids enjoyed a relaxed atmosphere filled with excitement, music, and anticipation for the day ahead.

Meanwhile, behind the scenes, the team from Sunshine Weddings Spain had already arrived at the venue to begin transforming the estate for the celebration. Ceremony chairs were carefully aligned overlooking the Neptune Garden staircase, sand-coloured carpets were laid beneath the Chuppah area, and elegant parasols were positioned across the welcome terraces and lawns, providing shade from the warm spring sunshine.

The venue itself felt serene during these early hours. Water features trickled softly through the gardens while florals and styling details were placed throughout the property.

By early afternoon, bouquets and buttonholes arrived at the bridal cottage, where Emma stepped into her gown surrounded by her bridesmaids and family. The atmosphere inside the cottage shifted from calm preparation to full excitement as final touches were completed and the talented destination wedding photographer, Andreas Holms, captured those emotional pre-ceremony moments.

A Stylish Welcome in the Upper Terraces

As guests began arriving at the villa during the afternoon, they were welcomed on the upper terraces beside the fountains and scenic balcony. The setting immediately introduced everyone to the beauty of the estate — whitewashed architecture, flowing water features, towering palms, and panoramic Mediterranean surroundings creating a sublime, luxurious atmosphere.

Eight cocktail tables dressed in crisp linens were arranged beneath elegant white parasols, while chilled sangria, beer, soft drinks, and infused refreshments were served as guests mingled beneath the Spanish sunshine. Ushers guided arriving guests through the venue, ensuring the transition between spaces felt smooth and relaxed.

One of the most striking elements of the setup was the thoughtful styling throughout the estate. Grass feature walls subtly screened dining areas and service spaces, allowing guests to fully immerse themselves in the experience without distraction. Every pathway, terrace, and garden corner had been carefully designed to feel harmonious, polished, and welcoming.

The atmosphere throughout the welcome reception was vibrant yet relaxed — exactly the mood Emma and Charlie had envisioned for their destination wedding celebration in Spain.

The Ceremony: Vows Beside the Neptune Garden Staircase

As the afternoon light softened, guests were invited to make their way toward the ceremony space beside the venue’s dramatic staircase overlooking the Neptune Garden.

The ceremony setup was breathtaking in its simplicity and scale. A beautifully dressed Chuppah stood proudly at the base of the staircase, elevated on a custom platform with soft sand-coloured carpeting that blended beautifully with the natural tones of the estate. White wooden ceremony chairs framed the aisle, while floral accents softened the grandeur of the architecture surrounding the space.

The procession began with Charlie, who wore a light cream three-piece suit paired with a pale tie and boutonnière, perfectly suited to the relaxed Mediterranean setting, and his parents making their way toward the ceremony area, followed by family members and the bridal party descending the staircase in elegant procession. Guests watched quietly as Emma prepared for her entrance with her parents just beyond the screening walls.

As Emma finally appeared at the top of the staircase, looking timeless in an elegant off-the-shoulder gown with a full skirt and delicate veil, guests rose to their feet. Bathed in warm afternoon sunlight, she made her way toward Charlie surrounded by the beauty of the gardens, fountains, and soft live music echoing through the estate.

The ceremony itself was heartfelt, emotional, and deeply personal. Surrounded by family and friends who had travelled from across the world to celebrate with them, Emma and Charlie exchanged vows beneath the Chuppah while overlooking one of the most beautiful ceremony backdrops in southern Spain.

Following the signing ceremony, petals were distributed among guests before the newlyweds made their happy exit through a shower of celebration and applause.

Cocktail Hour in the Neptune Garden

Following the ceremony, guests transitioned into the Neptune Garden for cocktail hour while the newlyweds enjoyed a few quiet moments together with celebratory margaritas in hand.

The drinks reception perfectly captured the relaxed elegance of a Mediterranean destination wedding. Guests sipped cava, Aperol cocktails, rosé wine, beer, and margaritas while roaming musicians created a lively yet sophisticated vibe throughout the gardens.

Long trestle tables, cocktail stations, and cushioned lounge ledges encouraged guests to relax and enjoy the surroundings as golden hour approached. Cold canapés were followed by warm bites, carefully served throughout the reception while accommodating guests’ dietary requirements with faultless attention to detail.

At the same time, family portraits took place around the estate’s walkways and fountains, taking0 advantage of the incredible light and scenery the venue offers at sunset.

One of the standout elements of the reception was how naturally the venue flowed between spaces. Guests could wander from fountains to terraces to gardens while still feeling connected to the heart of the celebration.

Dining Beneath the Andalusian Sky

As evening approached, guests were invited toward the Main Garden for dinner beside the venue’s iconic fountain.

The dining setup was spectacular. Long banquet tables mixed beautifully with elegant round tables, all styled beneath soft lighting and surrounded by lush greenery. Stonewashed Chiavari chairs added understated sophistication, while personalised napkins and carefully arranged table details gave the entire setting a warm and intimate feel despite the scale of the celebration.

As guests entered the dining area, the live band guided everyone toward the dancefloor for one of the evening’s biggest moments — the newlyweds’ grand entrance to energetic Israeli music.

The atmosphere instantly transformed from elegant dinner party to full-scale celebration.

Guests flooded the dancefloor while the fountain was temporarily switched off to create space for the vibrant Israeli dancing that followed. The energy was infectious, with music, cheering, and dancing filling the gardens as the sun disappeared beyond the hills of Sotogrande.

Once guests returned to their seats, speeches began. Emotional words from family and friends brought both laughter and tears, creating those unforgettable moments that make destination weddings feel so deeply personal.

Dinner service unfolded beneath the stars with carefully paired wines, sparkling water flowing continuously throughout the evening, and live music softly accompanying each course. The atmosphere struck the perfect balance between luxury and warmth — sophisticated without ever feeling formal.

Sunset Portraits and Evening Entertainment

As guests enjoyed the main course, Emma and Charlie slipped away briefly for sunset portraits around the estate.

The venue truly comes alive during golden hour. The warm Andalusian light reflects beautifully against the villa’s whitewashed architecture, fountains, terraces, and surrounding greenery, creating a dreamlike setting for wedding photography.

Back at dinner, the band gradually encouraged guests back onto the dancefloor before the evening’s speeches continued. Glasses of cava were filled in preparation for the next big moment of the night — the couple’s first dance.

Set beneath the open Spanish sky, Emma and Charlie shared their first dance surrounded by family and friends before inviting everyone onto the dancefloor to continue the celebration together.

The Party: Dancing Until Sunrise

As dessert was served and the open bar officially began, the celebration transitioned into party mode.

The live band kept energy levels high before handing over to the DJ, who transformed the Main Garden into a vibrant late-night dancefloor. Tequila shots appeared across the tables, cocktails flowed freely from the twin bars surrounding the dancefloor, and guests danced continuously beneath the stars.

One of the greatest advantages of this exclusive estate is its privacy and lack of sound curfew, allowing celebrations to continue late into the night without interruption. That freedom gave the evening an incredible atmosphere — relaxed, energetic, and completely immersive.

Later in the evening, late-night snacks including churros with hot chocolate sauce and cheese toasties were served to keep guests fuelled for the final hours of dancing.

Even after midnight, the dancefloor remained packed as music echoed through the gardens and fountains. Coaches waited throughout the evening to transport guests safely back to nearby hotels and accommodation, ensuring everyone could fully enjoy the celebration stress-free.

The party finally drew to a close in the early hours of the morning, ending a wedding day filled with unforgettable moments, incredible energy, and the unmistakable magic of southern Spain.
