Beach Club Wedding in Spain’s Marbella: A Chic and Luxurious Celebration for Ranin and Sasan…

Marbella is synonymous with beautiful beaches and stylish settings, so it was Sunshine Weddings’ pleasure to fuse the two elements when we helped Ranin and Sasan find and plan their fabulous’ Beach Club wedding on the Costa del Sol last summer.

“We’ve had an apartment in Benalmadena for a few years, so we’ve spent a lot of time in that area, travelling around. When we decided we wanted to get married, we didn’t want to have our wedding in Sweden like everyone else in our Chaldean society, we wanted something more tropical instead; something including a beach and palm trees. Andalucia was a clear choice for us since many of our family members had already been there and were comfortable with the area.”

“We were searching through all the wedding planning companies on the internet and found the Sunshine Weddings website. We loved all the pictures and wanted a wedding just in that style. We got in contact with them pretty quickly and got an amazing service that was spot on.

We had a pretty clear picture of what we wanted, so Susan took us to the right places. A beach was mandatory for the ceremony so we got to see a few venues with just that. The Beach Club had all the perfect combinations, that some of the other venues couldn’t offer. So we had a beautiful beach, no close residents so music could play on until 3 a.m., we also had a pool… and it was all outside – just what we wished for! It had the luxurious feeling we wanted. We wanted a classy wedding with a beachy touch.”

“Most of the guests stayed in the same local hotel, and being that many in the same hotel was an amazing experience! All the activities were together, seeing each other in a new place and just running into new (familiar) faces everyday in the hotel lobby or the supermarket close by. The hotel had great service and everyone was satisfied with the choice. Most of the guests stayed for a week and visited other cities close by and places like Gibraltar. I think most of them will come back! The Costa del Sol is amazing in many ways: the people, the food and the culture.

I wanted something simple and elegant when it came to my dress, reminding me of my style in general. And I didn’t want anything trendy or fluffy; I wanted a timeless dress that perhaps, someday my children would want to wear as well. I remember watching a movie when I was 11 years old: Mighty Joe Young, and the main character entered a party in a beautiful white dress and I remember thinking that someday I just had to wear something similar. And then I found mine. It really was love at first sight. Also, a bit funny that my style hasn’t changed the last 15 years, haha…”

“A formal/traditional wedding was the theme that we wanted to achieve. Women coming in red carpet dresses, men in black tie suits and tuxedos. We wanted to achieve the luxury feeling throughout the day. Everything in neutral colors and timeless, nothing too trendy – just like our styles in general.

We chose Karen to be our florist, and even though the pictures I received from her previous work weren’t exactly what I had in mind for our wedding, I developed a quick trust in her. I sent her inspirational pictures of other weddings and she collaborated nicely. And the flowers she made for the whole venue were spectacular – more than I even hoped they would be. All flowers were in white with some greenery among them. They were very beautiful and suited the venue perfectly.”

“For the bridal bouquet I gave Karen the instructions of something classic and timeless; I wanted the biggest and whitest roses she could find, and she did indeed! I almost lost my breath when I saw my bouquet for the first time. Just perfect, in every possible way.

For Assyrians, the meze traditions are VERY important at a party. We don’t appreciate the three traditional courses that a classic wedding has, we need to have food on the table all the time! And what’s better than Spanish tapas that remind us so much of our Lebanese meze? Fortunately the Beach Club had a Lebanese inspired menu with meze and then we added Spanish tapas to it and had that going on throughout the evening. For main course we had steak and baklava with fresh fruit, and cake for dessert. Everything was delicious and well made.”

“Omaya made the cake exactly as we wanted it, both the design and the taste. She got an inspirational picture and she designed it just like we wished. It was a beautiful and delicious cake, and the flavour options were immense. I would recommend her to everyone!

We brought an Assyrian band to the wedding, as we wanted to do have a traditional wedding but in a new place. So it all became very familiar when we had them there playing during the whole party. And for the ceremony we had a saxophonist, Damien, who played wonderfully and made the whole experience of the ceremony so beautiful and lovely. He was a success!”

“Bringing 150 relatives and friends from around the world (21 countries) was no easy task; cultural and distance- aspects made it complicated. But we felt ‘confident with all the details regarding the wedding and for us the wedding is a memory that nobody will forget Some of our relatives hadn’t seen each other for many years. Ranin also had her henna-night the day before the wedding with 120 people gathered, and that was very special.”

“Many of the organizing team are now friends for us, and that is what life is about!”
We are stoked to hear all of this, there’s truly no greater feeling! We wish Ranin and Sasan a very long and happy marriage; we thank them so much for sharing their wedding day memories with us in today’s feature. We also extend a huge thank you to their fantastic photographer, Gino MK, for these beautiful images.
