A child-friendly wedding is guaranteed to add some priceless laugh-out-loud moments to your special day as we find out in today’s special bridal story featuring the wonderful bridal couple Leona and Stephen, a magician, a soprano singer and plenty of kids in the mix.
In fact, having kids on your special day has plenty of pros, they are usually the first guest to hit the dance floor, which often encourages adults to join in the fun, and are a great excuse to bring in additional entertainment like magician or stop off for ice cream. But before we go into those details, let’s take it from the top.
This church, situated in the Barrio Alto, is a popular choice for many Irish couples looking to get married in Spain, as was the case of the Northern Irish couple Leona and Stephen who flew over to Spain for an intimate wedding with all their family and lots of nieces and nephews.
As the wedding guests gathered inside the bridal couple’s chosen wedding ceremony venue, the charming church in Marbella, refreshingly air conditioned, the soprano singer Laura Elen serenaded the guests with her sweet, bright voice.
After some very emotional vows, the Catholic ceremony ended with Leona and Stephen, now as husband and wife, exiting the beautiful church and everyone enjoyed a walk through the old town in the glorious sunshine which, of course, could only lead to one thing, a must stop for ice cream! Which all the children and children at heart particularly enjoyed. There isn’t anything quite like sitting in the sunshine with silky soft ice cream to bring out the inner child. Sticky fingers dealt with and the stroll continued to a quaint little square of the old town to enjoy refreshment drinks.
From there the wedding guests were transported to the grounds of a typical Spanish hacienda located on a huge 5,250 m2 private estate, built in Mediterranean style with extensive jaw-dropping mountain views, meanwhile the newlyweds stopped off on their way to the villa at the pier on the Golden Mile to have some more amusing snaps taken by the talented Mireia.
Unique and fun photo opportunities which continued when the bridal couple arrived on the grounds of the villa, as there, near a traditional fountain feature in the driveway—adding to the chic elegance and romantic charm of the cortijo—was a vintage retro classic car, specifically a Vintage Sky Cadillac, which made for more fantastic photo opportunities, creating very special images for the couple.
All the while the guests enjoyed a selection of hot and cold canopies whilst listening to the ambient sound of Spanish guitar at the hands of popular Spanish guitarist, Nano, before they were invited to proceed through to the rear of the villa, where, on a back terrace surrounded by manicured lawns, a rustic yet elegant wedding table had been set-up.
There Leona and Stephen, together with their close family and friends, enjoyed a fantastic feast of salmon fish cake or marinated chicken salad with sauteed vegetables on a bed of fresh leaves for starters, followed by a delicious main course of roast chicken breasts stuffed with sun dried tomatoes and basil and sauteed potatoes or peppered sirloin steaks with sauteed potatoes, grilled tomato and mushrooms with pepper sauce, a delectable meal wrapped up with chocolate love cake and ice cream for dessert.
As dessert finished, and the youngsters of the wedding party started to get a bit fidgety, a children’s magician was brought in, which is possibly the most perfect form of entertainment for a wedding reception, especially as (just like the ice cream) the adults seemed to have more fun than the children!
Following the magic show it was time to party, and with the help of an open bar, a catchy playlist and late night snacks, including some mini hamburgers, the guests danced the night away until close to midnight, ending a magical day in a venue with romantic hideaways at every turn and everything needed for a truly memorable celebration.
