Choosing a warmer destination to marry where you have spent many a holiday can be a fantastic option for your wedding celebrations. Not only do you have knowledge of the area which you can share with your friends and family, this option also offers you familiarity and even though you are getting married abroad you can still feel comfortable in your surroundings and especially on the day of your wedding.

So when Yolanda and Robert got engaged they knew that Spain would be the ideal wedding destination as they were both experienced travellers to the Costa Del Sol; having stayed in Roberts holiday apartment near Estepona on many an occasion.

As with most bridal couples who choose to get married abroad, they still needed help with finding a venue in Spain and also with their wedding planning as they didn’t have access to service providers. They found Sunshine Weddings Spain whilst searching the web and filled in the contact form requesting assistance.

As Sunshine Weddings Spain have offices in the London, Robert and Yolanda were able to meet Scott, who was travelling between southern Spain and the UK, so he could get a better idea of the bridal couples requirements and to discuss exactly what they were looking for in terms of a venue. One important requirement that the couple requested was to have a church wedding in Spain in a traditional Spanish setting with a venue to follow close by.

A date was set for Yolanda and Robert to fly to Malaga and take advantage of the complimentary venue tour.

Having visited a multitude of different churches they fell in love with the old town of Marbella and the search was now on to find them a wedding venue in Marbella where they could hold their reception, dinner and party. Whilst the church in Marbella was clearly their number one choice, the challenge of finding the bridal couple a venue took a little longer, however as the team have an extensive knowledge of venues in southern Spain they were able to suggest a fantastic restaurant on the beach which the bridal couple instantly fell in love with.

Like many other popular venues their availability was limited, and with the wedding date only 6 months away, they chose Sunday September 7th

We contacted the priests in Marbella, and along the Costa del Sol, however they all had previous commitments, due it being high season, so the next challenge was to find a priest who was available to marry Robert and Yolanda. We spoke at length to a number of priests and finally we managed to confirm an English-speaking priest, based in Ireland, who would be willing to fly over to provide the couple with their wedding in the church in Marbella. The church agreed and finally all venues and the date were 100% confirmed.

September arrived and the 7th saw stunning blue skies and great weather for the couple, and their wedding guests, to enjoy their church service. Followed by a stroll in Marbella Old Town whilst local onlookers cheered and clapped the newly wed bride and groom who were happily snapped by their photographer David Toms as he made the most of ensuring the setting and atmosphere were captured.

The beach venue was a huge hit and the red theme that flowed throughout the day was a wonderful contrast against the golden sands and Mediterranean Sea.
