Yesterday was exactly 12 months to the day that our dear friend and wedding photographer suffered the most life changing motor bike accident during the peak of the season here in Marbella,’Southern Spain.
David is progressing day by day and working unbelievably hard to increase his movement. This daily challenge is excruciatingly painful but – in typical David style – he is fighting every step of the way.
This coincides with the news that David will be leaving Toledo treatment facility after an intense 10 months of hourly care. David has made it clear that his heart remains in Marbella and he would like to return to the place he has called home for the past 15 years. He wants to be surrounded by the people who love him and who have become his friends since he moved to Spain.
At the end of next August David will begin his next chapter although it is unclear as to whether he will return directly to Malaga as he seeks a continued facility of rehabilitation and progress.
We, of course, appreciate that most of David’s friends are involved in the wedding industry and are working flat out during peak season, but if anyone has any free time, David would love to see them. We cannot express how much it lifts his spirits to see a friendly face before he leaves Toledo.
Fund raising remains just as crucial and one important than ever with this in mind so please see the following link to David fund. Every penny helps so visit this page to understand more.
There is another gala dinner planned on Saturday November 4th with both Lisa Franco and Scott Gibbons organising like before and what we hope to become an annual event where all proceeds will go directly to David. Having spoken with David he is excited about the opportunity of being in attendance at this gala dinner wherever he is living at the time.
The previous gala dinner in November raised 10.500 Euros and this time with David by our sides we hope to raise more. More information will follow.
Whatever the future holds for David, uncertainty is the only certainty.
