Finca Wedding in Mallorca

Back

A Fairy-tale Setting for a Fairy-tale wedding…

The picturesque Balearic island of Mallorca played host to a dream spring wedding when our featured bridal couple, Zita and Asker said ‘I do’ at a glorious manor house style finca nestled in the beautiful and rugged Tramutana mountain range.

The late afternoon ceremony welcomed 69 guests – among which 9 children and 6 babies! – in its luxurious surroundings for a truly magical and memorable celebration, where friends and family were wowed by the incredible views stretching out across the valley of Orient and beyond. In fact, the over one-hundred-years-old finca is situated in a charming World Heritage Area, making it the quintessential venue for a destination wedding.

And one of the things we love most about this very special venue is its flexibility in offering a tailor-made atmosphere for each wedding celebration; from small and intimate courtyard ceremonies, through to larger scale events, incorporating sublime views of the aquamarine reservoir in the hinterground; the finca can change its backdrop for each and every occasion. Every wedding photographer’s dream. It also comes with some delightful private venue rooms, as well as a discotheque which boasts two floors, an interior balcony and a landscaped garden area…

As if all that wasn’t enough, its unique location is a hidden gem when it comes to summer weddings; the evening temperatures being pleasantly cooler thanks to the finca’s elevated position, making for the perfect conditions for a little outdoor partying. All set against a dramatic mountain backdrop, all beneath a goosebump-inducing canopy of stars.

As there had been a little rain the day before our Sunshine Weddings’ couple’s ceremony, the team decided to plan ahead and set up the wedding breakfast, flowers and balloons inside the venue. However, guests were still able to enjoy the fabulous views of the lush green gardens on the wedding day.

On arrival, the bride and groom’s nearest and dearest were treated to welcome drinks in the party room. Once Zita was ready, and all the guests had arrived, it was on to the beautiful ceremony, which went ahead outside, as planned by Zita; the stunning ceremonial arch set in the finca’s glorious gardens, despite a little Saturday morning drizzle. Friends and family were also able to enjoy the natural surroundings of the finca, taking their drinks with them onto the lawn, and admiring the venue’s seriously impressive and majestic pond.

Mallorca’s reputation for award-winning and innovative cuisine is famed the world over, and the finca’s catering was no exception. Canapes featured such delicacies as melon pearls served with a delicious Xoriguer gin, Mallorcan olives, acorn-fed Iberian ham, chilled guava soup with Kaffir lime sorbet, and cornets of smoked Maho?n cheese (from neighbouring island Menorca) complimented with fig jam and almonds – among many, many other mouth-watering creations. The canape menu alone was a Smorgasbord for the senses!

The wedding breakfast menu was equally impressive and the bridal party feasted on starters of Mediterranean langoustines, mango, mascarpone and passion fruit, a main course of succulent veal with roasted pineapple and grilled foie. Dessert was a scrumptious and heavenly-sounding white chocolate brownie ‘cloud’ decked with red fruits and Marcona almonds.

After the speeches, guests moved up to the party room ready to watch Zita and Asker’s legendary first dance, as well as to gather for the cutting of the fabulous cake. All in all, the evening celebrations were the epitome of a real wedding party, if ever we saw one! Everybody was happily dancing the night away, creating the perfect end to a perfect day.
