The Venue

A stunning 10 bedroomed Hacienda which can sleep 25 guests, making it the perfect place to stay with your nearest and dearest on the runup to your big day. Set in the picturesque foothills of Mijas Costa in Spain’s Andalusia, the essence of this country villa is a feeling of relaxation and comfort, a harmonious place to take your vows.

The beautiful bridal couple showered with rose petals.

Imagine your wedding guests walking through this breathtaking Andalusian farmhouse, enjoying a welcome drink on the front lawn, the sonoric sound of guitarist strumming music in the background, ready to celebrate your wedding in the sunshine. Exactly as Una and Gino’s loved ones did on their special day which continues in the most magical way…

The Ceremony

From there the wedding guests, many from Ireland, Una’s homeland, and the UK were ushered to be seated in the ceremony area which had been set up in the same space where they had enjoyed their welcome drink, a stunning outdoor area on the front lawn.

To the sound of Canon in D the beautiful bride made her entrance and was joined in marriage to the dashing Gino in a beautiful wedding ceremony—full of emotions, love and laughter—led by humanist minister Jeff Gruner.

After a fun recessional dance to La bamba, Una and Gino, now as husband and wife joined their guests on the upper side lawn, rich with tropical flowers, large expanses of grass, and the most breathtaking views that the Costa del Sol has to offer, for some refreshments and a selection of canopies including: Seared beef drizzled with balsamic truffle oil, melon and jamon skewers, rosemary skewers of chicken breast with Andalusian seasoning as well as a vegan option of garlic and herb bruschetta with fresh basil and baby tomatoes. All the while enjoying the glorious Spanish weather and a great jazz fusion guitar set by Nicolas.

The Wedding Breakfast

Dinner was then served in a lush garden area in the heart of the grounds of this magnificent Hacienda, there, while the younger members of the wedding party had fun on a bouncy castle that had been set up, the older wedding guests were treated to a typical Spanish feast with a choice of slow cooked crispy duck with onion and baby leaves dressed with a mango vinaigrette or Thai chilli and lime chicken wrap, with roasted beets and green salad dressed with spinach salsa for starters, including a vegetarian option. The mouthwatering starters were followed by serrano wrapped chicken breast; Filet of Seared Beef or a vegetarian option for the mains and rich Chocolate tart with passion fruit coulis and topped with white chocolate cream as one of three dessert options to finish off this flavour-packed feast. The wedding cake, by cake baker extraordinaire Louise cakes, was then brought and cut by the happy couple.

The Party

The dance floor was laid out in the lower courtyard of this breathtaking Andalusian farmhouse and just before everyone got grooving, the bridal couple enjoyed some stunning pre-sunset photos taken at the hands of the talented Balance Photography whilst the guests themselves enjoyed some fun with a photobooth that had been set up on the grounds. A moment of folly which led perfectly into the first dance to the classic sound of Islands in the Stream by Kenny Rogers and Dolly Parton.

After which everyone enjoyed a two hour music set from a live band followed by a four hour DJ session at the hands of DJ Tom Rust.

A flow of late night snacks; pizzas, mini burgers, cake and open bar saw everyone through to 3am before wrapping up the most magical day and night for the lovely Una and Gino, whom we sincerely thank for sharing their special day with us.

On behalf of the Sunshine team, we wish you both well as you embark on this next chapter of life.
