A beautiful boho wedding at an amazing rustic wedding venue in Mallorca…
On a balmy, lazy day last Spring we had the fortune of playing an integral role in the celebration of a charming rustic wedding in Mallorca, which saw the coming together of American sweetheart Vanessa and Scandanavian professional skier Chris, to celebrate their destination wedding in Mallorca.
This wedding stands out as a special one—the first wedding of our 2022 season, celebrated on the magical island of Mallorca, following two years of uncertainties due to Covid.
Despite the ups and downs of the global pandemic, Vanessa and Chris knew exactly what they wanted, a wedding with great vibes, plenty of sunshine and exquisite food of which Mallorca boasts to this and much more.
So without further ado, join us as we relive Vanessa and Chris’ most special wedding moments in today’s sentimental bridal story set in the heart of the Mallorcan countryside.
The story begins at a traditional Spanish estate that dates back to the 12th century, only 7 kilometres from Palma and with impressive vistas overlooking the bay of Palma.
The finca, surrounded by rolling farmland adding a dreamy touch to the setting, has a maximum capacity for 300 guests with all the spaces for the marriage ceremony, as well as the reception and the dinner – making it a convenient and beautiful location for a rural wedding.
The tranquil serenity of the private estate greeted the guests as they arrived at the grounds of this recently renovated and popular wedding venue on the island. Once all the guests had gathered, they were invited to make their way to the ceremony area.
A trio of talented musicians serenaded the guests as they took their seats in the ceremony area that had been set up on the bottom lawn with a gorgeously completed flower arch, made by Serendipity and elegantly draped in white fabric.
To Duomo’s “Wildest Dreams” being played by the musical trio, the beautiful bride was escorted by her father down the outdoor aisle to where the handsome groom awaited by the adorned flower arch.
There, a very emotive ceremony led by a Norwegian Priest, Knut Lyngseth, took place, which saw Vanessa and Chris say ‘I do!’ surrounded by their loved ones.
Following on from the ceremony, which finished with the musical trio playing “All you need is love” by Stringspace, the newlyweds joined their guests in the shade of Las Palmeras Terrace for some refreshments and a selection of appetising canopies including: Macerated seasonal fruit, octopus with smoked paprika, mini mahonés cheese with quince, crunchy herb crisp with Galician beef tartare, croquette of Joselito ham and ceviche of sea bass and prawns with guacamole, all the while enjoying an up-beat play-list that sounded in the background.
Just before the first call for dinner, the newlyweds enjoyed their photo session with the talented Roger, who made the most of the leafy gardens and ancient finca to immortalise the magical day with picturesque backdrops.
On the estate’s immaculate lawn, decorated with rustic touches making this American and Scandinavian union unique and unforgettable in so many ways, the wedding party sat to enjoy the most delicious Mallorquin cuisine, where the Michelin star chef, Marc Fosh, created a dreamy dinner set up in front of this impressive country location.
There guests enjoyed a creative and traditional Mediterranean cuisine including: Lightly smoked pork belly with sea scallops and Soller orange for starters, followed by a Galician beef fillet with charred spring onions and romesco sauce as the main course, with a vegetarian option available for those who preferred. A mouthwatering meal that was finished with chocolate in 3 textures and a passion fruit sorbet.
The party then continued, with Vanessa and Chris enjoying their first dance as a married couple under thousands of twinkly fairy lights. A romantic moment that was shared with some 100 guests who had come from all over the world to enjoy the magical day, a true international affair that went on into the early hours before a private transfer service safely transported everyone back to their respective hotels, finalising the most perfect of days.
Serendipity or the flawless decoration, Fosh Catering for their superb catering and Roger for the use of these fun images of the day.
And of course to Vanessa and Chris for trusting and sharing their magical day with us, wishing you both a lifetime of blessings and love!
