The Bridal Couple—A British Bride and an Irish Groom.

Today we are delighted to share with you Stephen and Sarah’s special day, this British/ Irish bridal couple actually live in Australia, so after two years of travel restrictions due to Covid, this was an extra special wedding, as not only did it unite the international couple as husband and wife, but brought together family and friends who hadn’t seen each other since before the pandemic.

The Venue—A stunning rustic villa set in 36000m2 of gardens.

A Mediterranean-style residence which not offers quiet corners, romantic nooks and idyllic views for a fairytale wedding, but also the perfect accommodating to use with your nearest and dearest on the run up of your special day as it easily sleeps up to fifteen guests and made the perfect base for Stephan and Sarah’s loved ones.

The Day

Lush foliage sheltered and lined the long cobbled driveway that led to this beautiful private residence in Marbella. There as a private transport service delivered all the wedding guests to the entrance of this old-world romantic hideaway where they were welcomed with a glass of Sangria, beer or soft drinks as music floated over the green lawn adding a touch of bygone elegance to the affair.

After the welcome drink, all the guests were invited to walk down the ceremony area which had been set up on the lush front lawn, a space which holds incomparable views towards the sea from a singular location perched on the top of a mountain.

A magical wedding day, sealed with a kiss.

There, the bride and groom, surrounded by friends and family, were joined in a magical ceremony in the middle of the picturesque grounds of this fairy-tale location.

By a beautiful circular wedding arbour the sentimental wedding vows were said and the rings exchanged in an intimate ceremony lead by wedding minister Lizz Wilkinson, all the while beautifully captured by the talented Issy, who did a fantastic job snapping all the magical moments of the day.

Rustic styling and decor.

Now as husband and wife, Stephen and Sarah walked back up the aisle where they joined their guests for the drinks reception and an array of hot and cold canapes, under an outdoor pergola. A moment which allowed the guests to mix and mingle and catch-up after travel restrictions had kept everyone apart for so long.

In this magnificent setting, where splashes of colour from vibrant blooms and leafy green palm trees offered a natural décor to the picturesque setting, family photos were taken as the guests made their way to the dining area, near the outdoor pool, were the fabulous Guinness brothers played some traditional and contemporary Irish music and the wedding party settled for a very traditional Spanish meal of seafood or chicken paella.

Wedding breakfast by the outdoor pool.

All the guests were invited up to where the paella was being cooked and served, for a choice of the paella that most caught their fancy, with a vegetarian paella also on the menu. A round of delicious tapas was also served including: Patatas Bravas, with a spicy sauce, meatballs served in a spicy tomato sauce and goats cheese and berry empanadas. A meal that was finished off with a selection of artisan ice-creams from an ice-cream cart that had been set up in the same outdoor dining area.

In this dreamy space, the all-important speeches were said and by the time the meal had finished the sun had long been set and it was time for the party to start, there by the swimming pool, tables were removed and the guests were able to witness the newlyweds enjoy their first dance under a blanket of stars.

An incredible party was had by all, with Sax player Demian doing a surprise set which really picked up the party vibes, which, together with a fun photobooth corner set up at the back of the pool, thanks to Gavin from Gofotomaton, kept everyone grooving and having fun until past midnight.

An international wedding which brought together guests from all over the world, in the celebration of a destination wedding in southern Spain with picturesque views that served as postcard material for the best day of Stephen and Sarah’s life.
