Today’s bridal story takes us to the foothills of Mijas Costa in Spain’s Andalusia, there sits a magnificent Hacienda, considered one of the most luxurious cortijo in the region and makes the perfect rustic villa wedding venue.

On the grounds of this breathtaking Andalusian farmhouse the beautiful Gina and Emmett were recently joined as husband and wife.

On a stunning day last July guests arrived on the grounds of this ten bedroom traditional hacienda and, to the sound of instrumental music by the talented Zoe, were guided to the verdient front lawn where they were offered refreshing white sangria, water and beer.

After a moment of pleasant mindling in the sunshine, it was time for the ceremony; with the elegantly dressed groomsmen inviting the guest to the reserved seating that had also been set up in the front lawn. A spectacular space rich with tropical flowers, and the most breathtaking views of the Costa del Sol, with rugged mountain-ranges on one side and the shimmering Mediterranean coastline on the other.

With the timeless sound of the Irish song “Grace” the blushing bride made her much-awaited entrance, looking stunning in an exquisite, figure-flattering mermaid wedding dress and glided down the aisle to where the dashing groom awaited.

There on the large expanse of grass, two large Balinese parasols framed the whimsical wedding arbour and ceremony space that overlooked the tropical grounds and distant rugged mountains.

In an emotive and meaningful wedding ceremony, led by Wedding Minister Pastor Dave, the young couple were joined in holy matrimony, a blissful moment which brought a tear or two to the intimate group of family and friends that had flown out especially to witness and celebrate this beautiful union in the Spanish sunshine.

The newlyweds embrace surrounded by tropical grounds with distant views to the rugged mountains.

An emotional moment that finalised with a fun wedding recessional. to an upbeat “Rather Be” by Clean Bandit and Jess Glynn.

A warm summer’s afternoon accompanied the guests as they enjoyed a glass of bubbly and some nibbles on the side lawn including garlic and herb bruschetta with cheese, olives and tomato, seared beef drizzled with balsamic truffle oil and coriander and jalapeño flatbread with moroccan koftas and minted greek yoghurt, whilst drinking in the spectacular views overlooking the Costa.

After some sixty minutes enjoying good vibes, drinks and views, a moment when the newlyweds together with their nearest and dearest enjoyed a photo session at the hands of the accomplished photographer Rachel from Balance Photography, the wedding guests were ushered to dine in the back lawn, a space beautifully lit as dusk settled.

There everyone enjoy a magnificent spread tasting all the delights and the different types of food Spain has to offer in two waves of tasty tapas including: delicious chorizó and smoked paprika croquettes, chicken breast skewers in Andalucian seasoning and potato and onion Spanish tortilla followed by roasted Chicken pieces in Basque Sauce, Mini beef burgers with caramelised onions with a splash of honey mustard dressing and roasted chicken pieces in Basque sauce.

Night set and everyone enjoyed the candle-lit, al-fresco dining under the stars, which finished with a flavourful trio of desserts made up of sweet churros rolled in cinnamon sugar with a hot chocolate dipping sauce, tangy lemon Spanish tart with strawberry coulis and chocolate Mousse.

The newlyweds cut their wedding cake.

A change in settings throughout the day saw the dance floor laid out on the lawn where, after some sunset images were taken, the party kicked off with the bridal couple enjoying their first dance to – “Heaven”. After which guests were invited to the lower courtyard where everyone enjoyed a two-hour funky sax set and six hours of music to a catchy playlist taking everyone through to 4am before wrapping up the most magical day and night for the lovely Gina and Emmett.

But the celebration didn’t end there, the following day friends and family gathered once again at the magnificent Hacienda which can accommodate 25 guests in ten luxury rooms for a BBQ and pool party, the icing on the cake to end a magical mini-break under the Spanish sunshine.

A huge thank you to Balance Photography for the use of these incredible images. And a huge thank you to Gina and Emmett for sharing their magical day with us. Wishing you well as you embark on this next chapter of life.
