A destination wedding at the fabulous Son Mir in Mallorca…
Mallorca meets all the needs of a dream wedding and today’s bridal story takes place in a secluded, stylish and romantic setting on this beautiful mediterranean island.
Son Mir, set in the heart of the Mallorcan countryside, only 10 minutes from the capital of the island, Palma and 5 minutes from the airport, Son Sant Joan, is the epitome of rustic fairy-tale luxury and is a popular venue, with it’s large lawns and court for ceremony and dining, with many bridal couples looking to hold a medium to large sized wedding.
The Finca, with an authentic Majorquin design, has an extensive history, dating back to the 17th century and made the perfect location for today’s magical bridal story starring the lovely Sophie and Michael.
Arches lead to the extensive lawn areas where the beautiful ceremony was conducted. To the elegant sound of a string duet on cello and harp, the stunning bride made her way down a bohemian petal strewn lawn towards a picturesque floral arch where the dashing groom stood.
Surrounded by their nearest and dearest and an oasis of verdant palms swaying gently in the breeze, the lovely Sophie and Michael were joined as husband and wife by wedding minister Tracey, who led a heartfelt and intimate ceremony in the sunshine.
After the wonderful ceremony, guests enjoyed drinks and canapes on the lawn, while photographer Josef Peyre whisked the newlyweds away for some stunning shots in the grounds of the Finca, where the rustic backdrops, stone steps and and mature palm trees that flank the finca made for fantastic photo opportunities.
The table decor was simple but enchanting, with rustic chairs, natural seagrass placemats and pretty pastel table linen which adorned each table, blending perfectly into the gorgeous villa’s rural setting and its lush gardens.
In the courtyard between the main house and the guest accommodation, the guests were seated for the delicious wedding breakfast prepared by the top professionals at Fosh catering who proudly boast to using only the best ingredients and offered a feast of homemade cuisine including: Fresh cod fillet with salsa verde and Iberican ham for starters, followed by herb crusted farm raised chicken with truffled mousseline and asparagus for the mains. A delicious meal finished off with a scrumptious chocolate in 3 textures with passion fruit sorbet.
As the sun set on this striking setting, twinkly lights illuminated the grounds added a wondrous romantic, chilled-out vibe to the glorious natural setting of the finca at dusk.
The newlyweds enjoyed a romantic first dance on a grassy outdoor area as guests waved sparklers around the perimeter of the dance floor, cue for an evening of revelry and dancing with family and friends to commence at the hands of the talented Dj Alex which kept everyone grooving to his catchy playlist until 1:30am, ending an unforgettable day and night for Sophie and Michael and their loved ones.
