A Glimpse of a Magical Wedding Day in the Mijas Costa Foothills
Let’s take a stroll down memory lane and reminisce about one of the unforgettable weddings we had the honour of organising at the beginning of this season; a spectacular event which unfolded in one of the most luxurious cortijos in the Mijas region.
Situated in the captivating Entrerrios Mijas hills, surrounded by lush golf courses, verdant greenery and other luxury villas, this traditional Hacienda provides the ideal backdrop for an intimate, vintage, or rural-themed wedding.
A Dreamlike Wedding Ceremony in Spain
On a blissful Saturday in April, we witnessed the enchanting union of Georgia and Michael. Their sun-garden wedding was a sight to behold, adorned with cascading blooms and an elegant wedding arbor draped in floating white fabric.
As guests arrived at the traditional hacienda, they were greeted with a refreshing welcome drink, serenaded by the gentle strumming of a local guitarist, Nano.
The ceremony area offered breathtaking views of the rugged mountain ranges surrounding the finca, providing the perfect backdrop for Georgia and Michael’s heartfelt vows. Accompanied by Ed Sheeran’s “Perfect,” the couple said “I do,” etching the moment forever in the hearts of all present.
Al-Fresco Delights and Scenic Views
After the ceremony, guests gathered on the veridian upper side lawn, where they indulged in delectable hot and cold canapés, accompanied by bubbly and ambient guitar sounds. Meanwhile the guests marvelled at the beauty of the Spanish countryside and sparkling coastline, the newlyweds enjoyed a photo session captured masterfully by the talented Natalie Hamilton.
The wedding breakfast was a culinary delight, served in a tropical space overlooking the turquoise swimming pool. A sumptuous spread, starting with a slate of tapas including appetising Manchego cheese, melon and serrano ham salad, patatas bravas, prawn Pil Pil and handmade red chorizo and featured mouthwatering mains of market cod with toasted garlic creamy sauce or serrano wrapped chicken breast stuffed with herbed mascarpone topped with fried onion strings, with a veggie option for those non-meat eaters.
The sumptuous feast culminated in a delightful trio of exquisite desserts. Guests indulged in sweet churros, delicately rolled in cinnamon sugar and accompanied by a luscious hot chocolate sauce for dipping. The crema Catalana, adorned with a crunchy caramel topping, delighted taste buds with its smooth and creamy goodness. To top it all off, a rich and decadent chocolate brownie added the perfect touch of sweetness.
As the evening progressed, a toast to the newlyweds was made with a glass of cava for each guest. Amidst the warm ambiance, the all-important speeches took centre stage, filled with heartfelt words and cherished memories, further uniting the couple and their loved ones in this joyous celebration.
Unforgettable Evening Under the Moonlit Sky
As dusk descended, the romantic ambiance was heightened by flickering candlelight as the newlyweds captured some pre-sunset moments amidst the lush grounds of the venue, creating more striking wedding photos with Natalie’s expertise.
The night continued with dancing in the lower courtyard, adorned with minimalist lighting that added an intimate charm to the celebration and provided the perfect setting for DJ Jade to entertain the guests with an electrifying playlist, elevating the party to new heights.
A Magical Wedding Celebration Shared with Loved Ones
The day after, the joy continued with a relaxed BBQ and poolside chill-out, where Georgia, Michael, and their approximately 100 guests basked in the magic of the hacienda. After having to postpone their dream wedding from their original date due to Covid, the couple finally shared their fairy-tale event with their loved ones.
