Same Sex Wedding in Mijas: Craig and Chris’s Magical Day…
On one of the most perfect summer’s days of the wedding season, Craig and Chris tied the knot in one of southern Spain’s most idyllic country hideaways: the beautiful Hacienda just inland from Mijas; an exclusive paradise tucked away amidst the rolling hills of the dramatic Andalucian campo.
There are destination wedding venues, and then there are destination wedding venues that elegantly and effortlessly take the breath away. The Hacienda is definitely one of the latter, and for that reason, it’s become one of Sunshine Weddings’ favourite properties for their bridal couples’ to hold their special days. Set in a location that offers tranquility, beauty in abundance, and convenience; the Hacienda ticks so many boxes when it comes to planning a wedding abroad.
Tranquility… because the surroundings are simply heavenly.
This is a venue where it’s impossible not to feel an immediate sense of well-being in the build-up to the nuptials. The property itself is an attractive white-washed estate house, complete with a gorgeous turret, which offers unparalleled panoramic views and is the quintessential backdrop for any wedding photo, also making the best viewpoint for a wedding photographer to capture sensational shots of the happy couple, their nearest and dearest.
Beauty in abundance… for the sheer variety of flora; the kaleidoscope of greenery filling every corner of the 10,000 square metres of manicured gardens and their 360 degree vistas, all of it contrasting magically with the luxurious swimming pool set neatly in the middle.
Convenience… as the Hacienda is easily accessible from both Malaga and Gibraltar airports, as well as the Costa del Sol’s train and road networks. Furthermore, the 10 bedroomed traditional Hacienda has space for up to 25 guests to stay on-site in spacious surroundings, enabling the couple and their closest family and friends the opportunity to relax and unwind in the build-up to the wedding day, as well as the days after the celebration. Furthermore, every bedroom has an en-suite bathroom and 8 rooms also have their own private terraces.
And for everyone else on the guest list, nearby Mijas, and its designated area of the Costa, have a wide array of top-notch hotels and apartments, just perfect for week-long or shorter stays.
Craig and Chris looked absolutely dapper and were blessed with endless blue skies on their wedding day.
An emotional and joy-filled ceremony was followed up with a true celebration of the couple’s love in the most fairy-tale atmosphere. The wedding breakfast was served against the backdrop of the stunning turquoise pool, fringed with the vast and lush green gardens of the property, its gently swaying palms, chirruping cicadas, and colour pops of flowers. It’s no exaggeration to say that the Hacienda is as close to paradise as it gets in the 21st century…
Then came the all-important speeches and a magnificent display of the most delicious wedding cupcakes, topped with a stylish Chanel logo to complete the opulent look.
Craig and Chris rounded off the evening entertainment for their nearest and dearest in epic style, and with the help of the most fabulous drag artist, who truly captivated all!
Another huge plus point of the Hacienda’s just-off-the-beaten-track location is that the usual restrictions of wedding venues in slightly more built-up areas don’t apply regarding night-time entertainment… and so the night sky is pretty much the limit when it comes to dancing beneath the Spanish stars until the small hours.
