For a wedding day filled with rustic glamour and splendour, the following feature article highlighting Laura’s and Dan’s magical day illustrates this and much more…
In one of the most stylish yet comfortable backdrops in Malaga you can find an elegant Spanish Hacienda dating back to the year 1800. The flavour of that era has been maintained in the structure of the beautiful mansion, a timeless elegance which is also reflected in the centenary gardens and decorative fountains which surround the hacienda.
Here, on a splendorous summer’s day, the second Thursday of September, the lovely bridal couple, Laura’s and Dan, enjoyed an intimate wedding ceremony surrounded by their nearest and dearest.
The grounds of this Spanish estate offers several unique spaces to hold different parts of the day, all of them perfect for bridal couples looking for different, elegant spaces to wow their guests, as was the case of the lovely bridal couple, Laura and Dan.
And in one of those spaces, a sheltered area of the summer garden, the wedding guests, most from Scotland, gathered and mingled to the soulful interpretation of a classical guitar repertoire at the hands of the accomplished Spanish guitarist Nano.
Before the bride arrived, all the guests moved to the ceremony area where they continued to enjoy Nano performing on his guitar some very traditional Spanish romantics songs.
At that point, the beautiful bride, in a gorgeous princess wedding dress with a sweetheart neckline and open back, arrived. Laura looked absolutely radiant as she was escorted, on the arm of her father, to the glorious outdoor wedding ceremony area.
Surrounded by a green canopy of natural elements, mature garden and decorative fountains, Laura and Dan were joined at the altar by Padre Peter who led a heartwarming and cheerful service. Once the vows were said and the rings exchanged, the couple, now as husband and wife, walked back down the aisle of the delightful outdoor space to the uplifting beat of Gipsy Kings – Bamboléo played by the wonderful Nano, and joined their guests for fresh sangria, wine and refreshments and a wide range of delectable canapes including: fritters, Thai chicken fingers and ham and cheese skewers.
Following on from that, Nano continued softly strumming flamenco-style music as the newlyweds enjoyed their photo session with the talented Isabel Benchetrit.
The main course was then held in a large outdoor terrace area which had been decorated with whimsical string lights which created a dreamy celestial array where the newlyweds and their loved ones enjoyed a tartar of salmon and avocado as a starter to the wedding breakfast, followed by a mouthwatering pork dish and a Russian hazelnut and chocolate with peach dessert.
The celebrations then continued, late into the night, inside the grand Spanish hacienda to the swing of an acapella singer and guitarist.
A huge thank you to Isabel Benchetrit for the use of these incredible images. And a huge thank you to Laura and Dan for sharing their special day with us. The team at Sunshine Weddings Spain wish you both a long and happy marriage.
