Wedding preparation time is a magical moment to be savoured in full for every couple waiting to tie the knot. A romantic countdown full of possibility, passion and creation. The years, months, and weeks leading up to the most special day of a bridal couple’s lives are definitely as exciting as they are inspirational. And getting married in Spain adds a whole new element to this anticipation. A destination wedding venue in sunny climes and paradise settings, makes for a fairy-tale backdrop before a single Pinterest vision board has been constructed!

So today we are pleased to be sharing some of the gorgeous and elegant styling ideas undertaken at one of last summer’s most beautiful weddings arranged by the Sunshine Weddings Spain team. May these stunning images act as a springboard for the wedding celebration of your dreams, too:

Cream, rose and shell-pink fused with fern and dark-green: the paintbox of colours used at this particular villa wedding were natural and floral, further accentuating the glorious surroundings. We love the way this just lifts everything in the background to chocolate box proportions (in this case lime-green lush lawns surrounded by verdant woodland and a river) creating a perfect blend between Bohemian-esque and English country garden, as far as wedding themes go. The tiny white buds of gypsophila flowers add a delicate contrast to the full-blooming roses and foliage adorning the focal – and absolutely breathtaking – wedding ceremony arch.

And then the concept weaves itself effortlessly once more into the seating area where beautiful cream-coloured crooks artfully support posies of matching flowers in opaque vases, to stunning effect! Elegant lanterns mark out the end of each guest row of the aisle, and the aisle itself is strewn with rose petals.

Needless to say, all of this creates the most fairy-tale backdrop for wedding photography opportunities, whilst lasting long in the memory of bride, groom, and guests.

After the ceremony, it was wonderful to see the pretty pastel theme work its magic at the all-important wedding breakfast. The table decor was simple but enchanting, pared down to the optimum degree to let the gorgeous villa, its gardens – and of course, the newlyweds, take centre-stage. Bronze calligraphy numbers marked out the seating areas for the guests, once again, posies in vases adorned each table, and large decorative mirror plates showed off a confetti of glass pebbles and pink hearts to stunning effect. Wedding favours set everything off perfectly.

The bride and groom’s mouthwatering ‘naked’ multi-tiered wedding cake looked sublime as it effortlessly displayed the features and hues of the previous parts of the wedding day. Arranged on a shabby chic piece of furniture, it couldn’t have looked more eye-catching or inviting staged in front of long garlands of fairy lights. We love the way the natural light and greenery of the villa’s gardens also filters through in this shot…

Another lovely touch was the way that the other, smaller elements of decor flowed between the various areas of the day – and the drinks station was no exception there, the set-up looking like something out of an aspirational glossy magazine. A veritable colour pop for guests to coo over whilst choosing their cocktail of choice!

As the sun set on a wonderful Spanish celebration, twinkly lights illuminated the grounds creating a dance floor of the lawns, as well as gently hugging the tree trunks to showcase the glorious natural setting.

And lighting festooned the property and its evening buffet area, too – making the terraces look like they were dripping with little golden and violet waterfalls. Such an idyllic tableau for an evening of revelry and dancing with family and friends.
