A Spring wedding means a gorgeous flower-covered ceremony, pastels covering the aisle and altar and flowers abloom enhancing the romance of the day…
If spring is the season for you, take a look at today’s special bridal story which takes place early April at a beautiful Spanish finca with immaculate grounds and panoramic views of sea and mountains, located a brief 30 minute car ride from Malaga Airport.
A wedding that was originally planned to take place in the north of Spain, but due to Covid-19, as many weddings in 2020 and 2021, the wedding was postponed. Mainland Spain was still the bridal couple’s first location choice to be wedded, and on contacting the Sunshine Weddings Spain team last June, everything was swiftly put in motion so that Nitya and Nikesh could celebrate their dream day in Spain.
On a blissful spring day, the first Sunday of April earlier this year, it was finally time for the lovely bridal couple Nikesh and Nitya to be joined as husband and wife in a beautiful outdoor ceremony surrounded by almost 200 guests.
A day filled with love and laughter which started off with all the guests being transported in three different shuttle buses, from their five-star hotel accomodation in glitzy Marbella, to the grounds of this quaint finca full of authentic Spanish ambiance.
Before the stunning bride made her appearance, all the guests moved to the ceremony space which had been set up by a beautifully decorated mandap, with ornaments of different colours, for a traditional Hindu wedding celebration.
The beautiful Bride was then led to the wedding mandap, underneath an elegant canopy of flowers during kanya aagman, giving the ceremony an extra touch of beauty and colour.
Under the mandap, surrounded by 14,000 metres of lush gardens, bride and groom were joined in marriage by a priest who had been specially flown in from the UK.
A traditional and elegant Hindu wedding ceremony transpired followed by one hour of drinks reception where the guests enjoyed an array of canopies including: mushroom gyoza, langostino prawns with salsa rosa, chicken pitta with alioli, pani puri and aloo tikki to name some of the traditional Indian foods served.
Following on from that it was time for all the guests to be seated for the main course that was held on a luscious green lawn overlooking the stunning surrounding Spanish countryside. There the guests were served a tantalising starter of salmon and avocado timbale with a vegetarian option of sautéed fresh vegetables with rondeño creamy cheese and a main of free range chicken with nuts, glazed onion and apple purée, the vegetarian dish option being a aubergine allá parmigiana, finished off with a white chocolate mousse with brownie and vanilla ice cream, served with coffee wrapping up a delicious meal for everyone.
After the romantic first dance, the bride and groom were joined by all their guests at another charming outdoor space, where eight hours of open bar, late night snacks including white chocolate wedding cake that was cut and served, together with catchy playlists at the hands of two groovy Djs, who played back to back, meant fun was had by all until 6am!
Approximately 200 guests were able to share this fairy-tale event with the wonderful bridal couple and we thank Nitya and Nikesh for sharing their special day with us.
