Celebrating a wedding in Estepona, Spain…
When a bride dreams of getting married abroad they have a vision of sun, sea, golden sands and stunning views which is exactly what Jill and Des had in mind when they got engaged in the Autumn of 2013, especially since they own a holiday home in Duquessa in southern Spain. It seemed the perfect solution to get married in Spain surrounded by their nearest and dearest in a town close to their hearts and which they had grown to love more and more each year.
They knew the location but they needed to find the perfect wedding venue so they contacted Sunshine Weddings Spain to help them with their venue search, and also with assistance in planning their wedding in Spain as they live in Ireland and have busy work schedules which meant they could not travel until the following year.
Jill loved the idea of getting married in a church and she knew the church in the old fishing village of Duquessa known locally as the Castillo de Duquesa; the Castle of Duquessa. The Sunshine Weddings team firstly established availability at the church and booked the date so Jill’s vision of getting married in a church in Spain was now becoming even more real. Once the church in Durquessa was confirmed we then needed to find Jill and Des a wedding venue nearby so we suggested several hotels in the area with the focus being a beach wedding venue in Estepona.
Having taken a look at the wedding venues in Estepona Jill chose her favourite option and flew out in the New Year and confirmed she had made the right choice.
The wedding venue she had chosen in Estepona worked perfectly, located just 10 minutes from the church, providing easy access and a short travel time for her guests to be transferred by coach from the hotel and directly to the church.
Jill and Des’s wedding in Spain arrived and as expected the skies were blue, the sun was shining and the sea glistened creating the most amazing backdrop for everyone to enjoy such as special day.
Jill and Des wanted to include their family and add some personal touches to their wedding so they had asked Jill’s brother and close friend to play the guitar and sing throughout the church service.
Following the ceremony guests walked to the tapas bar and enjoyed a drink before being transferred to the hotel.
At the their beach wedding venue everyone enjoyed the reception drinks and canapes and whilst sipping champagne, wines and beers, which were served on the terrace, they took in the views over looking the Mediterranean sea.
Dinner was a wide selection of Iberian meats and cheese for the first course, followed by a choice of either monkfish or beef for their main course and a chocolate dessert.
During the meal Jill and Des took the opportunity to have a moment on their own and enjoy a fun photo shoot on the beach with their photographer David Toms before returning back to the party to enjoy 2 great sets from a soul band followed by the hotels in house dj that kept the party going well into the night!
