Wedding In Andratx, Spain Part 2 – The Ceremony & Reception’
In Part One we met Jenni and James and discovered that the couple planned to marry in Mallorca after getting engaged on the beautiful Iberian island. They turned their wedding in Andratx Spain into a mini holiday for their friends and family, with Jenni enjoying a chic beach club day with her girl friends for her Hen, and the couple inviting their guests to a pre-wedding get together the night before.
Then the day arrived…
At Sunshine Weddings Spain we take our wedding planning duties seriously and go above and beyond, which is why we also love helping brides choose their dresses from local boutiques. Jenni looked stunning in her lace wedding gown and floor length veil, which she purchased from Rosa Clara in the island’s capital of Palma (they also speak perfect English, which helps immensely). The ceremony was held outside in the hotel’s lush gardens and the colours and style of the bridal lavender bouquet was reflected in the pretty chair decorations and handmade fans that the guests received on arrival.
During the planning process Jenni had expressed her concern about walking down the aisle on her big day – she had recently lost her father and was worried about how it would feel to celebrate without him. But as she made her way through the beautiful gardens, her radiant mother by her side, she was nothing but smiles. Their chosen minister had created a very touching but uplifting ceremony and we were pleased to see that there were only tears of joy and lovely memories. Jenni couldn’t have been a happier bride.
Dinner was served in one of the hotel’s banqueting suites. The guests were treated to a sumptuous menu including avocado soup with oyster and ginger cream, a choice of monk fish or lamb, and everyone’s favourite dessert – chocolate pyramid with a berry cream. The cake, an elegant creation in silver and white, was cut at 10pm and was immediately followed by the first dance. Then the party really got going! A fantastic live band rocked the room and guests immediately got into the party spirit. At midnight everybody was led into the hotel’s very own nightclub where the DJ played on and Jenni and James’ guests partied until the early hours.
It was wonderful seeing the couple come full circle – from James asking for her hand in marriage in Mallorca, to them starting their married life together hand in hand. A perfect end to a wonderful wedding in Andratx and a fun-filled weekend of celebrations…just as Jenni and James had imagined.
