Wedding Photographer: Exquisite Images for Your Special Day…

We are very excited to talk with a groundbreaking and dynamic photographic duo for today’s blog feature! Kasia and Marcos are based in Marbella, and have been blazing a trail with their fresh and unique approach to photographic style, capturing happy memories from southern Spanish weddings (as well as celebrations abroad) for the past decade.

Let’s find out more about their inspirational journey, the imaginative twist they bring to their art, and the wonderful wedding services they offer bridal couples seeking a destination venue wedding on the Costa del Sol:

Our company was founded back in 2010 by newly married couple, Marcos and Kasia. Soon we began to add to our video team. Currently we have 3 main photographers, 3 assistants, 6 video operators, a handful of editors, and some super-talented drone pilots in our team.

Marcos studied photography and made his first steps as a photographer for local newspapers and magazines. When we met and started to travel together around the world, the cameras were our best friends.

We stumbled upon the field of wedding photography by chance, and we swiftly realised that there was so much scope and variety in this specialty. When we started out 10 years ago everything was very traditional, and we thought this part of the industry needed a bit of a shake-up, a bit of an update. It was the perfect motivation to turn wedding photography around!

Our style aims to be natural and spontaneous. Our many years in the business have given us an instinctive feel for great aesthetics, fused with an artistic edge, and a highly-defined chromatic range, which we love to weave into our imagery. We pride ourselves on being as ‘invisible’ as possible during the wedding day. This requires us to be well-positioned at all times and to use photographic equipment that allows us to work at the right distance so that we do not interfere with the flow of the wedding celebration.

What we like best about what we do is the vibrant feeling of working live! It requires us to improvise in every single moment, because each wedding is different, and so it’s always a great challenge to bring a unique and high quality result to every bridal couple and their chosen venue.

In the south of Spain we have the advantage that it is not very common to work in adverse weather conditions. The few times we have had to do so, we have taken advantage of it. To give you an example… if it’s raining we take out our Wellington boots and umbrellas and do a creative photo session with these elements instead. There is no point in disguising the reality! We have to record the wedding day as it happened. If a wedding day turns out to be grey we will brighten it up with images of smiles and hugs.

The best advice I can give a couple is to arrive at their wedding day ready to have fun. That’s the only thing they have to worry about. And, if they do, the result will be fantastic in every way and this will also be apparent in the magic of their photographs and videos.

One of the most spectacular weddings we have covered was in Marrakech. It was a 3-day wedding for a couple from New York City. There were two different ceremonies: a Jewish one and a Persian one, both at the Selman Hotel. The most amazing thing about this wedding was the big party they did in the middle of the desert where they recreated a small medina especially.

And the most incredible landscape where we have carried out a post-wedding photoshoot was in Iceland. Simply epic!

We are taking advantage of the pause caused by the pandemic to carry out some internal work. We have also completed some exciting work that we will present soon, illustrating our new styles of video editing. In addition to this, we are working on two new wedding album collections that will also see the light of day in 2021.

Every season that passes is defined in its own special way. For the approaching 2021 season, we have some very interesting projects in new places of celebration booked into the diary; in fact maybe one of the most interesting projects we have encountered so far will be taking place in Qatar next year… but it’s top secret!

For potential bridal couples interested in hiring us, we are normally booked at least one year in advance. There are, however, always some last minute weddings, and our team is booked just 2 months in advance.

Wow…

This has been an incredible insight into a truly avant-garde and forward-thinking couple, whose vision is simply impressive! A huge thank you to Kasia and Marcos for their time, as well as these breathtaking images. The Sunshine Weddings Spain team certainly looks forward to working with them in the upcoming wedding season.
