Talia Giraudo is one of our fantastic bilingual Spanish photographers and knows what it means to capture the fun of your day in a discreet and natural way. Her photography is full of joy, colour, life and love…everything that makes up a great wedding.
We asked her to choose ten of her favourite recent wedding images and explain to us why she loves them so much and how they sum up what a great wedding day is all about. Needless to say, the pictures speak for themselves!
Here are Talia’s ten steps to a great day…
01 – The morning of the wedding day is when nerves catch up with the bride. Ashurina, for example, had her lovely wedding planned to perfection but was struggling to relax on the big day. I love to make my couples relaxed, so after a bit of joking about she finally gave me a beautiful smile which I managed to capture. It was the start of a great day!
02- The build up to the bride leaving for the ceremony is one of the most fraught times of the wedding day. It is when final touches are made, make up re-applied and deep breaths are taken by bridesmaids and the mother of the bride. Photos of these moments remind me of a Formula 1 car in a pit stop. Couples always laugh when they see these images after their wedding day as they forget just how frantic the first few moments were.
03- The bride has left for the ceremony, the frantic rushing about and nerves are behind her, and that’s when emotions run high. It’s no wonder that it’s at this point that the mother of the bride starts to get a little weepy. These women watch their little girls transform into beautiful brides walking up the aisle to their new destinies – it’s no wonder they shed a tear of happiness or two. I love to capture moments like these!
04- This photo is from Henry and Danny’s wedding and I think it looks stunning. I loved the bright and colourful flowers from Shona, the fun balloons and the backdrop of blue sky and Spanish countryside. The entire bright and happy decor was just so great to photograph, as were they!
05- Nat and Carl were a lovely down-to-earth couple who wanted lots of natural and spontaneous photos of their big day. The perfect opportunity for a candid photo arose when an uncle threw some petals at the couple that he had sneaked into the ceremony. These moments are priceless as, as was the look on the faces of the bride and groom.
06- Gorgeous, stunning Erin. Her styling was impeccable and this photo says it all. Both her and her groom Ali had warned me they were not great at having photos taken, but on the day we had a’lovely relaxed session where Erin’s confidence shone in every frame.
07- These type of fun, natural guest photos are always the most appreciated by my couples. When you are getting married and hosting the party, it’s easy to miss the amount of fun your guests are having. So when couples finally get to see the photos of how much their guests enjoyed their big day, they see how all the organizing and planning was all worth it.
08- A beautiful rustic olive tree background and some great light is sometimes all you need to create a romantic couple photo with a sunny, warm Spanish feel.
09- The end of the night. The stress is over, speeches finished and it’s time to party! The music at this wedding was great and the girls were giving it their all!
10- The illumination that Sunshine Wedding supplied for this wedding was perfect. This was a perfect Spanish wedding night with twinkling lights, a warm breeze and the smell of honeysuckle in the air which will be forever etched in my mind from this breathtaking venue.
