The right wedding DJ will guarantee a high energy flow for your party, but choosing the right one can sometimes be a daunting task because you want to ensure their vibe and music is the correct fit for you, your family, and your wedding guests.
Your wedding DJ will be responsible for setting the mood and keeping the party going all night long so it’s essential to choose someone with a lot of experience and knows how to read a crowd, that way ensuring your wedding reception is an enjoyable and memorable one for everyone who attends.
Some entertainment experts suggest that a bridal couple should interview at least three different Djs before deciding which one best suits their style. Hi Max, thanks for joining us today, how long have you been DJing, where did your passion for music begin?
I have been DJing for 8 years. I have been passionate for music since a boy learning drums in school, then guitar in my teens all tied in with a love for vocal performance.
I provide my services in both private and public venues and currently hold residencies with the El Oceano Hotel weekly in season & The Beach House Marbella.
Right now I’m based in Marbella, but I’ll take bookings as far as Nerja and Vejer as well.
Who is your greatest musical inspiration and why?
My Grandmother, she inspired me most the most as I was growing up. She was very musical too, and tap danced and sang on stage as a young girl.
What sets you apart from your competition?
My unique selling point is that I am a professional working DJ with many public audiences. Working in public places is about really reading an audience and capturing what they desire as a crowd. I build my sets methodically from start to finish creating a journey for my crowd from low intensity right up to the roof! I source remixed older tunes to please both young and older ages so nobody is disappointed.
How extensive is your music library or song list? What genres can you cover?
My music library is endless. In fact, I offer bridal couples the opportunity to download a QR code to add to their invitations which allows their guests to request songs ahead of the big day.
I cover most genres within commercial boundaries (meaning I won’t play classical or heavy rock). I say commercial boundaries because I see it as part of my job to read the whole room and not just a random unsuited request from one person who fancies a bit of Mozart!

Any tips or advice for the bridal couple on choosing their wedding entertainment?
Tips for the happy couple would be to try to mix live entertainment with a DJ if it’s on budget. Music makes the day for everyone and it should always be seen as a high priority.
Alongside your DJ get a live Sax, Trumpet or violin. They are real party starters!
Any funny anecdotes that have happened to you at a wedding that you can share with us?
Lastly, it may not be an anecdote but remember this – every couple I have seen looks cute and amazing on their first dance. So if you feel embarrassed or nervous then don’t. We are all just so happy for you !
