Nothing says ‘Destination Wedding’ quite like a sunny, beachfront ceremony beside the Mediterranean sea.

Only half an hour’s drive from Malaga airport sits this fabulous beach wedding venue which can comfortably accommodate up to 130 guests and has become a bridal favourite over the last decade.

To get a real feel for this luxury Caribbean style wedding venue, in today’s feature article we are going to walk you through a wedding that was recently celebrated there, the first wedding of this 2022 season, making the magical day all the more special for everyone.

On a beautiful Spring day, the elegant bridal couple Nicola and Rob enjoyed an intimate wedding ceremony, in the most stunning setting surrounded by their nearest and dearest.

Before the big day arrived, the couple had organised a few pre-wedding moments for their corresponding families to meet, having not had the opportunity to do so before because of all covid restrictions previously in place.

But finally it was time, not only for Nicola and Rob to be joined as husband and wife but for the families to be united too, with the majority of Nicola’s family based in the UK and Rob, who is Jamaican, based in the Caribbean.

Choosing Spain as a place in the sunshine for everyone to meet and enjoy some of the great things that the Costa del sol has to offer. A wedding that was actually organised very much last minute, again covid playing a role in this short notice nuptial, but planned with the same illusion as any other wedding.

To kick off the festivities, the bridal couple organised a fantastic get together two days before the wedding, starting off with a delicious meal at a popular chiringuito near Mijas Costa where everyone was able to eat and sample lots of fresh fish. Then, the evening before the wedding, everyone met again and enjoyed a typical Spanish meal in the local town of the Cala de Mijas.

The big day finally arrived and all the guests were invited to take their places in the ceremony area, set up in the sun-soaked water front terrace, where they were serenaded by the sound of Nano performing very traditional Spanish romantics songs on his guitar.

To the Beatles’ song “Here comes the Sun” the beautiful bride, escorted by her brother with her niece as the flower girl, glided up the aisle towards the handsome groom who was waiting for her by a chic and elegant white altar, with delicate white pillar and urn arrangements on either side.

Once the vows were said and the rings exchanged, the newlyweds walked back down the aisle of the stylish Ocean veranda to a reggae version of Bob Marley’s “Could you be loved” performed by Nano. There, by the outdoor pool bar area they joined their guests once again for some refreshments before Nicola and Rob headed down to the beach to enjoy a quality photo session at the hands of the talented photographer Andreea.

Cava was then poured for all the guests as they were called to be seated for the wedding breakfast held in the Beachfront Terrace, located right by the water’s edge. There a feast of fabulous cuisine from the venue’s world class kitchen was served, including starters of smoked salmon and cucumber roulade and prawn filo arcels on a bed of glazed leeks and crème prawn sauce. Followed by mains of roast salmon, lemon and thyme potato cake, tenderstem broccoli, cream chive sauce or lamb saute spinach, leek mash, asparagus and mint sauce. A delicious meal which was enjoyed by all and finished with an oven baked chocolate fondant with raspberry coulis and ice cream, or red summer fruit tartlet and strawberry sorbet for dessert.

As night fell, an even more romantic scene unfolded in the mesmerising and relaxed surroundings where guests remained late into the evening, enjoying a catchy playlist and a slice of the exquisite wedding cake made by cake baker extraordinaire Louise, providing the cherry on the top and perfect ending to a perfect day.

A huge thank you to Nicola and Rob, who have now returned back to the Caribbean, for trusting us with your magical day. We wish you the very best of luck, health and happiness in your future together.
Also to Balance Photography and Andreea for the stunning imagery and Lorraine on hair and makeup.
