When it comes to high-end wedding cinematography and telling your unique love story, it’s hard to beat the wedding videos produced by Evergreen Malaga, a professional photography and filmmaking team based on the Costa del Sol, with several film and photography accolades to their name.
Today it has been an absolute privilege to catch up with Salvador Blanco, founder of Evergreen Malaga, who tells us a little bit more about the story behind the lens and how Evergreen Malaga came about.
Visual storytelling is my absolute passion. I’ve been a photographer since the age of 16 and my background is in cinema, as a filmmaker and Director of Photography.
When I decided to establish Evergreen Malaga back in 2004, it was a natural progression for me. Each couple is unique, with their own, beautiful story. To be able to capture and portray that through the lens on their wedding day is something really special to me.
Now, almost two decades on, Evergreen is a team of professional photographers and videographers. We’re based in Mijas, on the southern coast of Spain, but we travel all over Spain and Europe too.
It’s about telling love stories that touch people’s hearts. Capturing the flow of perfect moments, from the excitement on the morning of the wedding day, to the emotion of the families coming together and celebrating love, is really what it’s about.
To be able to do that, I rely on my background in film. A career highlight that led me to where I’m today, includes a short film titled “Illo, ¿tienes un pitillo?” that I shot in 2003. I’m proud to say it won several accolades including the “El Dilema RTVA Prize”. Also, a year after that, I directed a documentary series about “Una familia una historia” for television, which was fantastic fun to work on and really allowed me to hone my skills.
Firstly, our team all come from a formal film school background so we share that passion and eye for great imagery. Secondly, we love what we do! I think those are the two key ingredients that come through in our work. We truly enjoy giving our couples lasting memories that they can treasure for a lifetime.
Above all, I’d recommend you pick someone whose work you love, who has a lot of experience and that you feel comfortable with. Your wedding day is a big deal, so it’s really important to find someone who can capture it for you in the way that you want.
That’s a great question and one I find almost impossible to answer! Either way, I think it’s such an amazing privilege – to be part of one of the most important and beautiful days in someone’s life.
Both our photographers and videographers have great artistic vision. With photos, you can capture wonderful moments and easily share those with family and friends. With video, we can be creative with sound and movement, and do things like record your vows and the first dance, so you can relive those happy moments again and again. So I think both mediums are fantastic in their own way. You can choose one, or both. Our team is very experienced and we’re always happy to chat and help you choose the perfect option for you.
A huge “gracias” to Salvador, for sharing the story behind Evergreen Malaga with us and for all the incredible imagery. Salvador was actually part of the first wedding we did back in July of last year, marking the end of the pandemic’s postponed nuptials. We hope that this year, we get to see Salvador and his team on plenty of occasions in the up-coming wedding season.
