Romantic Spanish Style Wedding In Mijas…
So the wedding season has definitely begun and what better way for Sunshine Weddings Spain to start our 10th year in organising weddings than with a beautiful couple who flew from Ireland along with their family for a weekend of celebrations in traditional Spanish style.
The party began on the Wednesday with dinner and drinks at a nearby Irish pub where guests had the opportunity to become acquainted with each other before the wedding day itself, and over the next 48 hours they began to share in the memories that would last them a lifetime.
The morning of the wedding arrived and everyone was extremely relaxed having woken to the warm April Spanish climate. As the bride started to get ready the day began to unfold with hair, make up, champagne and lots of fun!
Our bridal party were a dream come true with the bride looking oh so romantic in her flowing dainty gown complimented by her hair which she had in a pretty soft, yet interesting ‘up do’ style, and her shoes were simply exquisite; she radiated pure beauty and happiness. The bridesmaids wore satin dresses in turquoise green and shoes in purple to match the ushers’ and groom’s ties, linking in with the natural beauty and enhancing the colours of the Spanish countryside.
The ceremony was a catholic one and took place in a small and very traditional Spanish church set in the seaside town of La Cala de Mijas. The service was personal and very moving, allowing guests to see and hear every moment of the ceremony.
After the guests congratulated the newlyweds, the photographer David Toms took the couple down to the beach for some romantic shots by the sea, giving them a chance to have some playful and romantic fun alone before embarking on their night of family celebrations.
Whilst the couple was having photographs taken the guests took a ten-minute coach journey to a quant Hacienda where a Spanish banquet lay waiting in the beautiful gardens surrounded by panoramic views of the Mijas countryside. They dined in a light and airy marquee so they could enjoy the warmth of the day but shaded from the sun. Once the sun had set the party continued outside where guests were entertained with live music from Michael Dickinson & Monkey Tennis, and to complete the evening’s festivities DJ Rob who played to a packed dance floor until the early hours of the morning.
The emphasis of the wedding was romance and fun, and the settings and venue provided the bride and groom with everything they could have wished for, from countryside to beach and traditional Spain, making their dream wedding in Spain such a special and memorable occasion for not only the bridal couple but all who joined in their celebrations.
